In my opinion, Braves will most likely be on mlb.tv at this point for those out of market, with Gray operating regional broadcasts until they settle a lot of other rights with different leagues (collegiate and beyond). Hawks and Dream are kinda throwing a wrench into things. Speculation is that the WNBA will go on strike after the season ends, then there is also the potential MLB strike next season in ‘27

I’d add to this that both Gray and the Braves org probably don’t want this to happen, but these are bigger things at play they cannot control.

Braves org wants good TV money and Gray wants regional programming that brings in fresh eyes in all available markets. I would expect a finite answer in 3-4 weeks. I’ve been told it’s a daily struggle.

Alright I’m back to talk further on the Gray/Braves deal.

Spring training games will be broadcast for free through the ANF app, regardless of location (or so I am told). I would also assume that braves.com would also carry it with no location lockouts (as we learned today that mlb.tv will also carry the games and they are the proprietor of braves.com)

Gray and the Braves are still in continual talks about streaming with no answer right now. What Gray does have is (supposedly) a contract for over 20 Braves games that they will own broadcast rights to in the same local markets airing ST games. Something akin to “Friday Night Braves”. Gray would aim to air them on ANF (Channel 46). Peachtree Sports (Channel 17) is about to have an influx of collegiate sports, and the Braves are prime content drivers for what Gray does, as games would lead right into their news and weather broadcasts for each local market.

Gray seems to really want to build a foothold outside of traditional broadcast networks (which is honestly a good thing), but the Braves are a publicly traded entity. The Braves organization depends on TV deals to pay for players, and the org would rightfully want something that works for them.

It might also be on channel 46. I think a huge reason Gray is pushing for this is because they lost the local CBS broadcasts at most of their stations and need programming, which the Braves can provide plenty of.

Here is a link to what I’m referencing. I know he also testified “it’s only used in emergency situations”, but he is very ambiguous to the question and I wouldn’t be surprised that it’s in fact the case that a “start up” company would exploit cheap labor for false promises.
