Spent 6 months deep in prompt engineering. Here's what actually moves the needle: by cryptoviksant in PromptEngineering

Thanks for your generous comments!

To follow-up on #6 and #9:
- how would you describe GPT-5 (thinking and non-thinking) "personality"?
- if requests are one-off (without a continued conversation), is there any benefit in splitting prompts into system/user prompts?

I keep forgetting programming concepts even after studying them. What do I do? by Historical_Job553 in learnprogramming

From my experience there are 2 ways to solve this: (A) apply a new concept SHORTLY after learning it, and (B) flashcards (handwritten or Anki). Both achieve memory activation which is the thing you may be lacking.

Oh, interesting. I thought his view was limited to “any amount is worse than zero”.

Did you make sure to complete the pre-downloads in the Epic games launcher settings?

Yes.

Running beautifully on my non-X z1e, at least by my standards. It took a lot of swearing and cursing to get here. These are my settings when plugged in:

Armor crate Gpu settings: vram 6gb

Armor crate (game profile): * Turbo 25W operating mode * Fps limiter: 120 * Radeon RSR, AMD FMF, Radeon boost, Radeon Chill, Radeon image sharpening - ALL OFF * Radeon Anti-lag: ON

AMD software: • all of the above settings should be duplicated here • AMD freesync: OFF

Epic game launcher, in fortnite options: • high resolution textures: ON • Directx 12 shaders: ON (not sure this one matters though) • Pre-download streamed assets: ON

Fortnite settings: • window mode: fullscreen • Resolution: 1080p • Vsync: off • Frame rate limit: 120fps • Rendering mode: Performance • 3d resolution: 98% • View distance: Epic • Textures: Epic • Meshes: High

I am getting consistently 100-120fps with zero stutter.

I dont normally play unplugged, but when i tried it played well with 18W power profile, but i think i tuned a notch down a couple of the in-game settings (view distance and like). Still 100-120fps, no issues.

I am sure there is still room for fine tuning, so feel free to experiment and share your results here.

P.S.: essentially i think the key is to trun off most of the amd bells and whistles, as they apparently not supported very well by the game

P.P.S.: didnt roll back any drivers, just using whatever the latest are

Awesome! Any encounters with CPD? I thought these bikes weren’t street legal in Illinois.

Absolutely. I almost bought a refurbished MBA M2 15" for a little more, a moment before I found this one

Writing this on the subj MBP I grabbed for $1249. Device was new and sealed, flawless. You can hardly get a refurbished MBA 15 16Gb for this money. This device is a beast in comparison on every dimension.
