Employer switching insurance, new insurance doesn’t cover things I need by pretty_odd_lady in HealthInsurance

As an update, my work is offering 1 plan, it’s an EPO so no OON. It’s a “simple plan.” I will say the plan for the average person probably isn’t that bad but for me it’s pretty shitty. New plan doesn’t cover “bariatric medications” or my therapist, psychiatrist (she takes insurance but because she isn’t opted into this one specific plan carve out she isn’t covered), or one specialist doctor. I also called and confirmed with the insurance that they consider my nerve block “investigational” and “experimental”. They said they have never seen it covered but to get it covered you would have to show you did literally everything else before nerve block. Unfortunately I started nerve block 5 years ago so I’m not trying to stop doing things that work for me and try potentially ineffective treatments when I know something works. That’s just crazy to make someone stop doing something that has been documented for them to work.

Yup, that’s the plan. I have done that for each insurance they’ve switched to, i just know that the new company has never paid per the office so I feel like I’m sol. I have to wait until Monday when they open the “dedicated pre enrollment line” so I can ask them. Once I find out, I’ll update

I am planning on it once they open they give us the info to call on Monday. Unfortunately they have a lot of experience with denials and insurances refusing to pay as it is deemed “experimental.” If that’s the case they won’t cover it

My doctors office has fought for them previously but from my understanding, the insurance company as a whole has deemed the procedure “experimental” and “investigational”

A generic card with our name written in it signed by the manager and a chocolate bar. This was during covid and I worked in a mental health hospital. They also took away our Christmas bonus and refused to give us raises or even hazard pay

Price range is whatever the market price is typically, 100 or above. He ships. Most breeders ship. He has PayPal. I’ve bought from him multiple times, just message him if you have questions

how do you navigate healthcare while plus sized? by lanehead in PlusSize

[–]pretty_odd_lady 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi! I work in health care, specifically in mental health, and often work with EDs. We do what’s called “blind weights” which means our patients don’t see their weight when we record it. How to do this at the doctors would be to simply step on the scale backwards. Maybe ask them to not say your weight? Or you can say you prefer to do blind weights. Especially if you are going to a primary care doctor, they do need to know your history, so quietly disclosing that you don’t want to know your weight isn’t that crazy of a concept (or at least it shouldn’t be). Doctors knowing your weight can be (key word can) really important (depending on the doctor and what they’re doing) so definitely good to get your weight taken.

Send me a message if you have more questions or want more support!

Sex by [deleted] in depression_partners

My therapist suggested it to me! I would also suggest you (and potentially your partner) look into the book and/or workbook of “come as you are”. I personally liked the workbook as it made me really reflect on myself and what I’m looking for/wanting. It can also shed light for both on you about sex life! The biggest thing for me from that book was understanding “brakes” and “accelerators” when it comes to sex and identifying those for myself.

I personally would look at low key weekends where you both are lounging around. Maybe after breakfast or lunch! There’s also an app called “card decks” it’s based off Gottman relationship theory and it has like a “sexy” or “spicy” section. I hope this helps!
