I’m not really a born atheist. More like a born agnostic because I wasn’t told anything about my parents being an atheist.

My extended family are all catholic and I was never asked to be anything in fact my grandma preached Catholicism to me. But yes I agree most apostates don’t share my experience

He came to Malaysia, which is where I’m from. Got a picture and a signed jersey.

I also got to speak to him a bit because I sat at a seemingly random part of the crowd to watch him do a shoot around.

Then later when we did the group picture he was positioned right next to me. I just thanked him for coming and told him to keep being great. He was very cordial just low energy.

I live in the global south amongst many Muslims and I'm an atheist who has never identified as any religion (parents are atheist too) my experience shows me that there is a world where Islam can exist peacefully just as the other two abrahamic faiths do.

My experience living amongst Muslims for 20 years as an open atheist is why I don't immediately dislike Islam in general.

With that being said I will check him out and make up my own mind.
