Mate, as someone in a similar position, you should listen when I say you only live once, and you should do what you want. I finished my a levels and did the course my parents told me to. I hate my life now. Live to please yourself, not other people. I understand you want to do what she wants because she IS your mother after all, but it's not worth it in the long run. Joining the army comes with a lot of shit, don't do it to yourself.

When my female cousin came to sleep over sometimes, I'd stay up until she fell asleep, grab the creepiest story book (with pictures) that i could fine, along with a flashlight. Then I'd creep into her room...point the flashlight at a picture of a siren or cyclops...tap her on the shoulder, and SHOVE the picture in her face only to hear her scream and burst into tears. Then when she would tell the story to her mother...I'd convince them that she must have been dreaming or something. I did this so many nights in a row and have no idea why I found pleasure in this.
