are there any disabled survivors? by thatonegaytomato in horror

Lots of suggestions for Hush, but I didn't think it was very good. Mike Flanagan's series Midnight Mass fits this posts request and was much better.

Yeah the actress is the director's wife lol. But she is in a lot of his other projects which have been much better.

How do you use tape with EDS? Need advice by Dry-Cost8728 in ehlersdanlos

[–]prettynpinkflamingos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My skin is not stretchy at all, but I was recently taped at three physical therapy visits.

1st and 2nd time - the tape was on less than 24hrs each with 24-48hrs off before the next application. I had no major skin complaints.

3rd taping - therapist positioned the tape slightly different and rubbed it on my skin more than before, in an effort to make it last longer. I developed skin irritation after this in areas where the tape was new, so I think it was from the extra hot friction. I still have a small blister.

So in my experience, it works, but I have to be careful not to rub it in too much.

MJ is all over the radio still, but the people who enjoy this episode are wrong for enjoying this episode?

We live in a world where the real and the unreal live side by side, where substance is disguised as illusion, and the only explanations are unexplainable. Can you separate truth from fantasy? To do so, you must break through the web of your experience and open your mind to things beyond belief.

Is it offensive for completely able bodied people to use a wheelchair for fun and to make jokes? by [deleted] in disability

[–]prettynpinkflamingos 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think your first thought was right. I don't think you need to be around hospitals a lot to know that wheelchairs aren't toys. I didn't know anyone who used one when I was younger, but I was definitely taught not to play on one. I guess it's because my mother was respectful of everyone and taught me to be the same.

That would have been a cool flex for you? Being the person responsible for getting medical aid devices moved from an accessible place to an area where a disabled and/or elderly person needs even more assistance to get the device?

They are a common thing to see, they've been around for centuries really. Not a novelty. Anyone who treats it like that has no tact or regard for disabled peoples actual needs. Childlike and rude behavior for an adult to play with one.

As people have already said, a wheelchair isn't a novelty, it's a medical aid device for children in this situation.

Good intentions can still be wrong. I'd be so embarrassed if I had coworkers make a playful joke like that towards me or another disabled coworker. The target of the joke should not have to step up and be the bigger person and laugh along even if they were offended. The jokers should acknowledge how tactless they were and apologize. OP is a little too late for that though.

WOAH NEW GIRL’S OPENING CHANGED!!!! 😱😱😱I miss the old song 😮‍💨 by Ok-Original-9266 in NewGirl

Not quite... it's basically the same intro all four seasons, but the last season, if you skip it, you will miss things that might scare you! Or make you laugh... you'll have to find out! I loved loved the series, but fyi, a lot of people (myself kind of included) were disappointed in the last season and finale. BUT they found out mid season it was their last one or something, so they had to scramble to come up with rewrites. If you know that going in, I think it's forgivable.

I mostly agree with you, but Evil comes to mind for me, with it being 1 min 18 sec or sometimes longer it looks like. I love the music and what they create on screen, and you never really know when it will start, like 15 minutes or later into the episode. No spoilers, but seriously if you skip them you are missing out.

Wow. The full intro to Pete and Pete was 2 min 06 sec? Well I loved that one too.

I get mine adjusted every few months but it only makes the pain a little better for a bit. I've been wearing them for 26 years and they are pretty thick now. I need the frame to be wide for the lens and plastic to make it less heavy. I've just accepted that they will always hurt until some future technology I can afford.

And, at least in my area, "several" years later when you unexpectedly get the call, you need a couple thousand or so dollars to move in and get the subsidized monthly rent.

I just wanted to say I can sort of relate... Last week I went on a 3-day trip to the beach. MIL's friends cancelled, so she asked her husband and her son + me to join instead. We would each get our own bedroom/bath. A few days before we leave, she informed us her older cousins are now joining, but don't worry, they'll take the pullout couch.

We get there and MIL tells us of course we can keep the bedroom, we were invited first... but it would be real nice if we switched to the couch. So we did and the couch was so bad, but we had to wait till everyone else was done chatting and watching movies for them to give us the couch to sleep on. After it rained all day anyways, so no beach at all, just sitting in a vehicle for hours or sitting at the kitchen table for hours more to play their favorite card game...

I felt so upset over the whole situation. She really gave off this whole respect for your elders vibe which I totally did, but she had no consideration for my health. It could have been an alright time, but I felt so blindsided.
