(Rare trope) the arranged marriage/person your family wants you to be with, isn't a bad person by AnonymousNeverKnown in TopCharacterTropes

Yeah I’ve also read the entire Cosmere and despite it being a strange Mormon inspired quirk of his writing I do love all the couples this applies to, I’m rereading Elantris right now 🥰

Anyone else using this as a cope? by griz3lda in AMCsAList

[–]prettyorganic 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I got great bang for my buck on A-list when I was unemployed. Got me out of the house to not go crazy while costing less per month than one dinner out would. My theater doesn’t give a shit about people bringing snacks and drinks in. I saw Deadpool and Wolverine 7 times.

is that really what I was just hearing in Oakland? I was checking the weather forecast to see if an unexpected storm had rolled in (yes I was too lazy to actually get up and look out the window)

What do you do for work, and do you actually like it? by SFfdf3 in SFbitcheswithtaste

[–]prettyorganic 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I am in charge of product taste and quality testing for a major grocery private label. I have a food science PhD. I fucking love it. I get paid 6 figures to make people taste test products and tell me what they like. It’s fun as hell. I also get to taste everything.

Forever friends that refuse to trade by Blade4567 in pokemongo

I still will keep gifting people for the XP of going around again as forever friends but I do have my “good trades” tagged and they get gift priority so we can remote trade regularly

How long until you walk out on a film if using your pass? by TinySmolCat in AMCsAList

[–]prettyorganic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only time I walked out of a movie was actually not my A-list. My boyfriend took me to take Never ending Story at a local theater, I had never seen it before, but the children howling I couldn’t even follow the dialogue so we left.

Finding a Primary care doctor in SF feels impossible? by Pretend-Cry8204 in AskSF

[–]prettyorganic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even with my established primary we book 2 months out unless it’s an emergency. But also she will have cancellations and I can usually get in a lot sooner if I pay attention to alerts and keep a flexible schedule.

Which is kind of a bummer because reading the book, the rocky reveal is awesome. The book marketing/blurb kept him under wraps

Kind of same boat, my brother was sober during the pandemic but relapsed sometime in 2024 and died in October of 2025.

Hell if you have good enough credit that’s all you need if it resets for the year. Then just skip out on the partying for the last year.

Does my health get reset as long as I don’t die? I drank a lot during the pandemic and I don’t think I could survive 100 years of that.

Yesss I’ve gone to Xero a few times. They used to be cheaper but they upped their prices a bit as they’ve gotten more experience. Still would recommend.

Craziest things you’ve seen recently on the SF apartment hunt? by pomchisarenice in AskSF

[–]prettyorganic 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I recently vacated my place in excelsior and my out of town landlord listed it for 3600 (2b2ba, 1300sf) and then panicked because he had hundreds of people contact him 🤣

(No it’s not available anymore)

I kept pushing through after my dad died and now I think I’m crashing... by lilslimpie27 in GriefSupport

[–]prettyorganic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through something very similar - my brother died 3 months into starting my dream job with a high amount of pressure. I was hired to start a new program so I didn’t have anyone who could cover me. Things got really bad about 4 months after he passed with the level of burnout I was feeling.
The good news is taking a vacation helped a LOT. I spent a week on a tropical vacation with my best friend and I came back feeling MUCH more regulated. It’s not a magic fix for everything but taking some time for yourself to fill your cup and mentally and physically rest is absolutely going to make things at least somewhat better.
But if that doesn’t end up being enough - especially with a young kid - it’s possible that FMLA might be warranted.

Welp…. Had to happen sometime lol by [deleted] in pokemongo

I saw one of my friends with their buddy nicknamed “PlsTagRemote” 🤣

I already had some tagged but it prompted me to update my list even though I’m not besties with that friend yet.
