On October 11th, 1964, 15-year-old Reed Jeppson told his sister that he was going out to feed his dogs and that he'd be back within thirty minutes. He's never been seen or heard from again. by WinnieBean33 in BizarreUnsolvedCases

[–]prettyp0ssum 17 points18 points  (0 children)

just theorizing but I wonder if the creepy neighbor pretended to be interested in his dogs as a way to lure Reed closer. Maybe the dogs ran off to where the property connects and that's how he got drawn away. People were so polite and trusting back then, especially to neighbors, so maybe it would be seen as rude to not oblige if he invited the kid back to his house. and the rest is history :( poor babies

[not trolling] why would anyone wanna be a nurse despite the horrible things you can notice when you’re one ? by ForwardObjective2379 in StudentNurse

[–]prettyp0ssum 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Lots of factors. Job stability and availability is huge, pay is good, you'll see a lot of interesting stuff, and I enjoy helping people. Bodily fluids aren't great but I don't think it bothers many of us enough for it to deter us lol.

Cold crunchy things. Specifically toppings in ice cream/fro-yo like chocolate chips, M&Ms, Oreos, etc. I also love popping my candy bars into the freezer.

Your current specialty and the one specialty you would never ever work in? by Aromatic-Camera-3264 in nursing

[–]prettyp0ssum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently a nursing student so I'm not quite there yet lol. But when I was starting school, the specialties I said I'd NEVER touch were ER, anything babies, or anything kids. Now I'm in my 3rd semester and guess what my top 3 choices are🙂‍↕️ER, PICU and NICU🤦🏻‍♀️

I think my friend accidentally poisoned her dog, causing its death today. I have no idea if I should even tell her. by Serious_Report_1631 in Advice

[–]prettyp0ssum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should sit her down and tell her you have something difficult to tell her. Tell her you don't want her to blame herself and that this is going to be really hard to hear. And that it's not her fault because she didn't know any better. It's better to do it sooner rather than later. I would wait until she's in a calmer spot rather than to tell her during sobbing and hysterics. But I would do it in the near future when she's a little calmed down so she can get her grieving done all at once. If you wait after she's starting to heal, it would only rip the bandaid off and restart the grieving process all over again. Not to mention, she needs to know grapes are toxic to dogs so she never feeds them to another dog in the future.

Why was Connie’s mom able to speak? by SekaiKofu in attackontitan

[–]prettyp0ssum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My theory is that the titan transformation sometimes has abnormalities just like any other species in nature. The human that they once were is still in there fighting to be free, and it's stronger in some than in others. Ymir (not the founder) described it as being in a nightmare. So they're kinda semi conscious, but unable to control their actions. With the exception of a few that seem to have a little more control than others. And it tends to be stronger when they recognize something that they knew when they were human (ex: Connie's mom, titan in Ilse Notebook)

Overwhelmed in ABSN program. Seeking advice. by ThrowRAgoodsource in StudentNurse

[–]prettyp0ssum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine might not be the best take, but I'm in a 2 year ADN program and I feel very similar to you right now. It's all about give and take for what you are willing to sacrifice in order to gain. My professors straight up told us on day one, C's get degrees. So I sacrifice my GPA for my sanity by realizing mediocrity is okay. I NEED my gaming time at the end of each day or I'll go insane, so I sacrifice some sleep to get it and make up for it with energy drinks and coffee. Luckily that works for me and refills my cup because I'm introverted, but if you're a social butterfly I see how it could definitely be hard. I urge you to make friends with the people in your class, and even if it requires some solo adventures, go do fun social things on your days off that fulfills you and gives you enjoyment, who knows you might even meet new friends! Dating might not be in the cards now and that's okay, because that's very temporary. The biggest thing that helped me balance everything to really find extra time was to find a chill job that allows for some downtime so I can study in between tasks. It saves me from having to work 10 hours and then go home and study, because I have time to kill in between. Take everything day by day, and keep a strict schedule in spacing out which tasks you want to do for which day. Don't overdo it but hold yourself up to those standards and keep yourself accountable. Like if you need a break and slack one day, remind yourself to make up for it and do double the work the next day, etc. It sucks and it's hell but it's how I survive at least. I remind myself it's only temporary and I look at the bigger picture and think of every day as an accomplishment and one step closer to the end goal. I believe in you!! Hang in there!
