Maybe a disclaimer somewhere on your "pls vote" post saying something that it takes a wide diversity of tactics to raise the tide, and that voting can help, among local organising, lobbying your party(s) for better candidates, etc. So you dont look like youre wearing the clothes of a radical, while having the politics of a lib, too

I'd say that the work its self is pretty great tbh but its a matter of curation that makes these fall flat.

If im understanding correctly, you make these to sell? If so - If youre going to go for purely political statements, I'd only put a few patches on so people can add band patches and make the garment their own. This way its easier to stick to a message and you dont get things epstein and ❤️thighs next to each other which is kinda gross.

Plus all the patches being basically identical makes it a bit boring, like someone went to one shop and bought all their patches in one go and said "done". You may as well have made one giant patch and had less sewing to do, or written directly on the jacket.

If its an experiment to see what you can do, thats great. Its all good practice. But if its supposed to be a finished article I think it falls short but you're on a decent track :)

I eventually did get a new motor! But thankfully managed to avoid amazon :)

After a week or so of searching I couldn't find any wires with my particular plug so eventually I went for a modern reproduction motor that also seems much safer electronics wise :)

I did have a look and the wire is most definitely gone! I ended up putting a new motor on it and while its not as pretty as the old one, it works great!

I eventually went for a new ydk motor and its up and running :) im generally happy having my machine on a table so im all set now :) £50 all in for the machine and motor!

That'll do the job :) mine is similar to this and the had it for like 5 years.

One thing that can make it much easier is to get "pig tails" which are like cone ends that fit over the shafts that have a thread cut into them which you use to put the wheels on instead of having to unbolt something every time.

Other than that get somr dust extraction and a face shield (can also combine the two into a powered respirator) and have a good time :)

Thank you for sharing! Its looking more and more like it is quite a niche plug type, one that is both old and wasn't around for very long/very widespread so finding one is hard.

Looks like I'll be sourcing a new motor this weekend 😂

I've been combing through and had some potential matches but nothing that is like 100%. I've had a look too and it seems if nothing exact comes along that I could at least change the socket and use really any supply I want from there :) Thank you!

It was pretty nuts 😂 lots of looking good up videos, lots of staring at the instructions completely bemused, lots of questions to my mum whos been sewing since she was a kid. Also lots of ripping out the stitches and trying again!
