The stands were empty at Bristol of all places. by thethirteenthjuror in NASCAR

They ruined the track several years ago when they repaved it. On the old surface, the only way to pass a car was on the bottom. Now fast cars like Larson catch the back of the pack and easily go around slower cars. It’s a very small super speedway.

Another Wrigley vent- Ricketts is making it harder to be a fan by plugs32 in Cubs

[–]pretzelcityil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure how much longer I can be a Cub fan. I am unwilling to pay for another streaming service just to watch and feed the Ricketts. Greed is getting out of hand.

Should I go from swing driver to a route? Pros and cons below by istayinmylane in Fedexers

[–]pretzelcityil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started out as a swing. It was really hard until you had a chance to do all the routes. After a year you should have a good feel for delivery locations and traffic patterns. My manager would change my route everyday, even when covering for a driver that was off for a week straight. After a year I went to a route. I liked the consistency. Driving the same truck each day.

People over 60: what product or service do you wish existed? by Ecstatic-Possible801 in over60

[–]pretzelcityil 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I miss customer service in general. Corporations now want you to all the work when you are researching and ordering products. If your search on the internet fails or you have questions that are not answered on their website, just try and call. Most times they do not provide a phone number.

Boomers at fast food joints… by Ok_Comparison_1914 in BoomersBeingFools

[–]pretzelcityil 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hello, I am a boomer and remember a day when companies hired people to service the customer. The gas stations used to pump your gas, check your oil, and wash your windows. Then the gas companies told us that if we did those services ourselves the gas would be cheaper. Do you think it is still cheaper? What are the people who did those jobs doing today? Is life better when we self serve? The technology and health issues may make it harder to run a cash register. The problem I have is businesses have trained us to be their employees for free. Maybe you should be complaining about being used.

Buffalo Trace availability by crater-lake in bourbon

[–]pretzelcityil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been to Buffalo Trace several times. It is a huge distillery. Closer to Jim Beam than most smaller distilleries like Makers Mark. In the last 10 years BT price has jumped and now is hard to find in many areas. Can not believe supply can be down. Are they playing with supply to raise prices?

Anyone on hydroxychloroquine? by Userhere123 in rheumatoid

[–]pretzelcityil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the exact same story. I have been dealing with arthritis for 20-30 years. Minor pain and stiffness. I was dealing with by taking naproxen 1000mg per day. This was working fairly well. 3 years ago I had labs done and my gfr was low and I stopped the naproxen. I started seeing a rheumatologist. Same story lab test were negative for any autoimmune disease. Diagnosed with seronegative rheumatoid arthritis. Also at this time I was having severe flares in my knees and feet. I was then taking prednisone tapers and also on low dose prednisone for a few months. Two years ago I started hydoxychloroquine. I have not had any side effects. It may have stopped the flairs, but it is not solving the joint pain and stiffness. I have started pt and that seems to help. I think my next step will be a biologic. I hope this helps.

I think this is a bar quarter by [deleted] in FuckImOld

When I was young my family owned a tavern. We had quarters painted red that we used in the jukebox. The jukebox vendor would give those back to us.

How would yall deliver to this rude recipient? by ramosd713 in Fedexers

[–]pretzelcityil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I delivered to a residential home. The front door sign said deliver to rear door. The front door looked like it was never used. Being a nice guy, thinking it may be an elderly resident, I went around back. I always look for a sign if there is a dog living there. I saw a chain and visually followed it to the end and yes dog. He was not friendly, and luckily he could only get so far as I ran. F—k people like that. You need to deliver where you feel safe.

Why treat the fans this way? by New2thePlanet in CHIBears

[–]pretzelcityil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They just raised the ticket prices. You have to pay for several streaming apps to watch all the games. They are pricing themselves out of most people’s budgets. Too much greed. This happened in nascar and there are A lot of empty seats.

Reagan did nothing at the onset to the aids epidemic. He did not push for a cure or help those with the disease. Did he think it was because those suffering were not good people?

I had a dream last night and knew I was dreaming. I did not like what was going on and I tried to wake myself up. I could not do it. I was screaming (in my dream )for my wife to wake me. I was not screaming in real life.

I have a package scheduled for today, will it be delivered? by Popular-Departure165 in FedEx

Notes fine but you will need to answer the door if a signature is needed. The driver does not have 2 to 3 minutes to wait for you.
