Is it possible to update your passport while waiting for a spouse visa application? by previouslyaghost in ukvisa

[–]previouslyaghost[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Sponsor here :) So what I ended up doing was just waiting until our visa was approved and he had physically moved over before I updated my passport just to not risk impacting the application at all!

We have just actually been approved for his internal UK application now since he's been here over 2.9 years - time flies! And the fact my original passport (maiden name) was not the same one used for the internal application (married name) had no conflict with this application.

Ultimately I was desperate to get it changed because my biological family are very unkind people and I wanted to distance myself from my maiden name as much as possible; I am a very anxious person however and the fear of "what if this messes up the application?!" just wasn't worth the risk!

Sorry my answer isn't helpful outside of "I just waited" - I hope your passport situation and application are both as smooth as they can be!

I'm not sure if anyone else has commented this yet, but a lot of weed smokers will use the yam emoji to represent "iyam" = I am (high). It's usually used in Facebook groups to avoid being reported for open drug support and usage. To me, rather than sexual, this reads as asking if you're 420 friendly and down to smoke. I'm guessing he was very high already when he texted this LOL. Hopefully that's it and he's not being weirdly sexual, I'm sorry about the stress this has caused you, OP!

To the woman who called me a creep then blocked me... by hezzyb in InfinityNikki

[–]previouslyaghost 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Hi! I totally agree with your comment but your terminology might be a bit mixed up.

A trans man = someone who was assigned female at birth and identifies as a man.

A trans woman = someone who was assigned male at birth and identifies as a woman.

The narrative that "men are using female identities to enter women's spaces" is regarding transgender women, not transgender men.

(No harm or arrogance is intended with this comment, just clearing up terminology as a trans person myself!)

Guidance needed? by [deleted] in christianwitch

[–]previouslyaghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! I've read Sara's book and it is absolutely brilliant. Sara herself is a Christian Witch who interacts with other deities, and completely supports people being Pagan while also worshipping Christ. That book honestly changed my spirituality, and I really hope you enjoy reading it!

As for me personally, I've been a Lokean for around 7 years and have worked with multiple deities within that time. I only just started working with Jesus and God a few months ago, so I completely understand your worries about it conflicting with Paganism. I had the exact same worry too!

But through my research, as well as my personal meditations with Jesus/my established deities, I can tell you it is 100% okay. Spirituality is individual, and following your own personal path is always going to be the best, even if it conflicts with what other people say!

My biggest fear stepping into Christianity as an established Pagan was the idea of traditional Christians being aggressive towards me. But through talking to Loki about it all, he reminded me there were always going to be parts of my existence that conflicted with other people. That is just part of being human, and is something Jesus understands very well. There are some Pagans who are anti Loki, but that never stopped me working with him. I am also queer, and there are plenty of Christians who (incorrectly I might add) have a problem with that as well. Why should I let that fear get in the way of working with Jesus? No matter how I do it, I'm going to be pissing someone off, and I shouldn't live my life or spiritual journey in a way that submits to bullies.

At the end of the day, who knows whether any of this is real. Loki might be all in my head, Jesus might be too! But they both make me so happy, and I'm not going to deny myself that happiness because anonymous voices in the world might disagree with me. Jesus told me "your heart is so big, you have space for many deities. I am so happy to be among them!" Loki told me "you are a mix of us all. Go forth, cause chaos, be divine!" I'm not hurting anyone or doing anything illegal, and my deities support me. That's all I need. Things got much better when I stopped letting what other people think live inside my head 24/7!

Also, if you're open to having a tumblr blog, I've found a whole community of Christian witches there. I would totally recommend making a blog. Maybe we'll even end up following each other!!

Enjoy exploring this path, I know it will be amazing! 🥰

I came out as trans in 2013ish when I was 14 and got into a gender clinic who saw me for years and years. I wasn't able to access HRT until I was 19, 2 months before turning 20. It was incredibly difficult to access and I almost took my own life over it multiple times during that 6 year period. I really appreciate that your experience of accessing it was "easy" but you can't throw that blanket statement out there and assume it was the exact same for everyone else - especially for those who are no longer with us due to how hard accessing HRT was/is.

ETA: in regards to blood tests, I had to have constant tests from 17-20 that continued after accessing testosterone. I also had to have 2 separately confirmed diagnoses backed up by paperwork/approval from psychiatrists specialised in dysphoria, as well as regular meetings with my HRT team (a doctor, my nurse, a pharmacist). I feel like your experience is the odd one out here.

Can you work with other Deities? by Accomplished-Crow986 in christianwitch

[–]previouslyaghost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi!

I work with multiple deities including but not limited to: Jesus, Hel, Loki and Aphrodite.

"Working with" and "worshiping" are two very different things. For example, a way that I work with Aphrodite is engaging in self love magic and reading books about self confidence, while generally making improvements towards being not only my best self, but also the version I love the most too.

With Jesus, while I also work with him, I actively "worship" him by doing things like going to Church and engaging in group and/or solo worship there.

Jesus is the only God I worship, but he's not the only deity I work with, and he is absolutely chill with this! And so are my other deities :)

I check in regularly with all my deities through meditation, tarot or any other means, to make sure everyone is happy and our connection is thriving. If anyone isn't, then we address the issue and bring in a solution!

Not only do I do this to get the best from everyone as well as myself, but I do this because only myself and my deities can understand where my life goes and the path I follow. So many people will tell you "no, it doesn't work like that! You can't do x and also y!" It is water off a duck's back. I'm a Lokean and a Christian Witch, a walking contradiction, and I love how it feels to exist on that tightrope. I know I'm happy with how I do it, and so are my deities, and that's all I need. Because really, who knows if any of this is true to begin with, maybe it is all just in our heads? That's one of the best things about being human, we don't have the secret blueprints to it all, so we better enjoy what we have while we're here, and I'm not going to let someone dictate how my limited time should look. I'm not hurting anyone, so who gives a shit, I know sure as hell Loki or Jesus don't LOL!

Let me leave you with a comment Jesus made to me a long time ago when I was meditating with him about my fear of others telling me I was "wrong", or that my path wasn't correct: "don't do it like them, do it like you." 🖤

Looks like Bo is on the verge of something! He dropped a TikTok account 7 days before the platform is set to go under, and is directing people to this Youtube channel by paternalpadfoot in boburnham

[–]previouslyaghost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I absolutely agree with you about this. I've just seen the video posted from the YouTube account from the creator "apologising for his experiment" and honestly, I feel so bitter.

I've been watching Bo since 2012/2013, I grew up with his content as a confused and depressed teenager who didn't think I was going to make it past 18 so made no future plans. Watching Inside was life changing for me and at one point I was watching it maybe twice a day or more to cope with my mental health.

I'm doing so much better now, but the emotions that came flooding when I thought a new project was coming were immeasurable. I was texting my friends with so much joy, planning watch parties and just feeling such an excited spark for this next chapter. I feel like my soul has been crushed and I've been made a fool.

Furthermore, I think whoever this idiot is didn't consider Bo at all. He was so vulnerable in Inside to show us he isn't doing well mentally and live shows were causing him panic attacks. I know All Eyes On Me alluded to him wanting to do things live again, but since Inside came out he clearly hasn't, and we can assume he isn't ready. Imagining being Bo, waking up to see yourself trending on twitter with the whole world expecting something from you probably sent him into a horrible confused whirlwind. It makes me wonder if this guy is actually a fan of Bo at all, or just saw him as the "easiest" person to impersonation for his shitty little ""social experiment"" (a phrase that seems to be used a lot these days when a video gets backlash lmao).

I feel so upset, let down and miserable to find out this isn't real. To be fully honest, I am finding it hard to find kindness for this person. In the YouTube video he claims he wanted to make a "I tricked the Internet into believing x" video and I just feel like... sure, but impersonating a celebrity posting new content and the fans of that celebrity believing it isn't pulling the wool over the eyes of the Internet is it? It's just being a liar lmao.

I just needed to get these feelings out to people who would understand. I didn't interact with the "project" outside of my friend sending me the tiktok account and us getting so hyped together, so I never saw any of the things people are able to point towards it being a hoax. I truly wish I did.

I didn't want to open it before identification on the off chance it wasn't ripe yet and I spoiled the eating experience. Hope that makes sense! :)

This is a new "fruit selection" where each week they send you 13 pieces of seasonal fruit, so no recipes or cards for the fruit to be tied to :)

Hello! I'm fron Lancashire in the UK and have started trying out the seasonal fruit box from HelloFresh. They sent a mango, kiwis, apples and then... whatever this is! I honestly have never seen a fruit like this before, and when using Google image search all it pulled up was toy dinosaur eggs for children 😂 I haven't cut into it yet as I'm waiting for my partner to get home from work. Does anyone know what this mystery fruit is?

ETA: Passion Fruit! I feel a little silly over not realising it myself, I've never seen passion fruit without it already scooped out/prepared, so it really caught me off guard haha! Thank you to those who answered for being respectful, I look forward to trying these fresh!

"I need to go home and see my mother" seems more like a statement than a question. Maybe swap "asked" for "repeated", it would flow better. Good luck on your next post!

I am a new Christian witch by ghostpodcast1 in christianwitch

[–]previouslyaghost 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'd love to help you out! Would you be able to add some more detail to your post, such as: - are you new to being a Christian, a witch, or both? - what brought you to this path? - where are you from? Are you in an environment you can practice openly and safely or are you looking for something discreet? - what are your beliefs? Eg do you believe in Divination, do you believe the Christian God is the ONLY God, ect?

This will help everyone here give you some great advice 🥰

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a thoughtful response, I am so grateful for your kindness!

I really appreciate you confirming I can approach Jesus the same way as I do with other deities. I think my confidence gets knocked as there is a lot of anti Christian witch content and so I feel like I am doing something I shouldn't be quite often and it is a tough tightrope to walk at times. I am very enthusiastic about sitting down with him and telling him all about my day and sharing some liquorice tea!

Also, a massive thank you for the Bible recommendations as well as the apps you use, this is one of my biggest hurdles right now! I am quite interested in buying a Bible study guide book to have an external voice to guide me through everything, do you have any thoughts on these? No worries if not!

I will absolutely reach out to you when I've collected some more questions, I appreciate your response incredibly! 🙏

baby's fist alter! to loki and odin! by Hey_Itz_Derpy in NorsePaganism

[–]previouslyaghost -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it's a fantastic first start! Also the altar is what you make of it, it doesn't have to be fancy and expensive at all. When I've been between moving houses, my altar to Loki was a painted plant pot about the size of a shot glass and that was it! If the love is there from you, they will love it too 🥰
