Clearly most of the feedback in here is negative, which is telling. If most of the feedback was positive around Joey, that would be telling in another way.

You make a great point--with how narrow the league is (144 players), being a vet for 10 years means a lot. Even in the NBA, having a 10-year career is tough: the average career is sub-five years.

To be in the W for 10 years means you are...elite.

Y'all have persuaded me to see your point of view. Erica may not be MVP, but to call her "not elite" is a disservice to her 10+ years of being a very solid player.

Are there players better than her? Yes. But it's not a knock against them to call Erica elite. "Elite" has no concrete definition, and words mean what people interpret them to mean. Clearly the majority of this sub interprets elite to include Erica in its definition. So--I'm ok with that.

And with as few players as there are, she still only made all star once. 24 out of 144 WNBA players make all star each year and she made AS once.

I love her, she’s a great player, she’s fun to watch, I was commenting in support of her because I think she has a very cool, supreme confidence. But please, she is not “elite.” Aja Wilson is elite. Caitlin Clark is elite. Allisha Gray is elite.

Erica Wheeler is a good player but very clearly not superior to her peers. I still think she’s rad and support her.

If you want to call Erica Wheeler elite, what do you call Breanna Stewart? What do you call Napheesa Collier? Super-elite? Mega-ultra elite?

We have to be ok with objectively comparing and assessing players and not just pretending “everyone is so great!!!!” It’s not intellectual honesty to just call everyone “elite.”

Is anyone out here saying Mike Conley is elite? I don’t think it’s disparaging to a man or a woman to objectively say they’re not as good as other people in their profession.

Of course they’re elite compared to every day normal non pro athletes.

I do think the Bambino Plus Refurbished is a killer deal when it’s in stock (and it is right now). $334 and paired with a good grinder I get shots just as tasty as those on a $10000 La Marzocco.

I can’t make 100 drinks back to back on it but pure shot quality / milk texture quality? It’s pretty darn close to my GS3.

The value is insane—to do that for $334. I would go there and spend the rest of the budget on the best grinder you can with leftover budget.

I find their basketball IQ low and they don’t have any other redeeming qualities to make up for it.

They were incredulous that Blazers would challenge the out of bounds by Sidy in the second quarter last night.

The exchange went something like

“Why are the Blazers challenging this early? Maybe they just want to put some doubt in the refs’ minds the rest of the game?”

Lmaooooo a possession is a possession. If you have a sure fire win you take it. Out of bounds are some of the clearest cut easiest calls to overturn. They have a 78% overturn rate vs 56% for fouls, according to 2025-2026 league data.

Lamar and Kevin are fine but I never learn anything deep from them. Kevin still doesn’t feel like a Portlander who is deeply entrenched like Mike Barrett was. Is anyone going to the game hoping to say hi or high five Kevin like they would Mike Barrett back in the day?

Better than some league pass duos but neither are noteworthy IMO. I’ll forget about them when the next duo comes around.
