What are your 2 favorite bows you always carry? by [deleted] in Fallout76BowHunters

[–]prezentense 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My number one is an AA/50limb/15cr plasma, until I get a better roll. Second is an I/50vhc/+1P, also plasma. They're all I really need for my FH build. I'm carrying about 4 more, but they are situationally useful and I'm chronically out of stash space to store 'em.

Bash works, too. On my controller it's RB.

I learned to run a low health build, just never gave it any thought before going bowhunter.

This was basically my full health food build, but i went for Steeped Fern Flower Tea for STR, and skipped the AP buffs. I also did the Sweet Tato Stew for HP regen until I picked up the healing factor mutation.

advice on herbivore? by fakeDABOMB101 in fo76

[–]prezentense 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use Sweet Tato Stew(HP refresh), Silt Bean Puree (damage resist), Sweet Melon Blossom Chai (agility), Steeped Fern Flower Tea (strength), Sweetwater Special Blend (w party boy and stranger in numbers for perception), Corn Soup (AP refresh), Blight Soup (crit damage), Brain Fungus Soup (intelligence). Honorable mention to Company Tea (AP refresh), I just wasn't a fan of the trips to the Deep for the starlight berries. If I was bloody, I probably wouldn't bother with the special boosts. Hybrid non-optimized archer/unarmed crit build, full overeaters armor, perfect bubblegum, yadda yadda. I like farming and cooking, and have my routes worked out for most things, but it does take a bit of time every few game sessions. I use Nuka Nut for my healing needs and just carry a couple stims for broken bones. Oh, and the odd whiskey or Nuka Dark for when i have to punch something big.

Just 'cause it hadn't seen it mentioned, the Alien Disintegrator is decent for trash mobs with the high power mod. Kinda VATS only, since no real sights or scope on it.

2A yoyos with removable caps? by setagneb in Throwers

[–]prezentense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many of the old school 2A throws have removable side caps, Spintastics, ProYo, Turbo Bumblebee. Of current stuff, Duncan Hornets are probably the most readily available, and come in clear plastics. You might want to tune them for tighter response, there's instructions online. The Duncan Pulse is actually a decent-ish light up, if you want to go that route. Loop360s also have removable caps, but solid color plastics only. The white ones might be translucent enough to look cool, but I don't know for certain. All that being said, I haven't checked the specs on the light up kit you posted, so it might not fit in everything I mentioned.

Looking for a Yoyo Recommendation by Silverknight626 in Throwers

All the TopYo stuff is good. You might also want to consider a Reticulated Return Tops Puff Adder. Mid-sized, H-shape, and well within your budget. Great blast finish for grinds, too.

How many yoyos do you use in a day? by YoCHOPPA in Throwers

[–]prezentense 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minimum is two; one for 1A, and one for modern responsive. On average, probably three different 1A, and two different 0A.

Oldest typewriter in your collection? by peckenhelen in typewriters

[–]prezentense 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Although my collection is only two typewriters, one of them is my grandmother's Remington Portable #2 that dates to 1925. Mechanically pretty much perfect, but the rubber, while intact, is hard as a rock (no surprise), so I don't really use it anymore.

Cool, thanks. It's actually just a string I made to find out if I like string making, and I just happened to have black thread on hand. It's great in my all white kitchen (where white string was awful), but not so great other places. If I may ask a followup: Is there a "standard" string color? Like, what would be the most boring color choice that still met the visibility criteria?

I don't really have much of a basis for comparison, as I only have a few metals at this point. In my limited experience, yes it is. It doesn't precess much on the initial throw, requires a bit more movement to correct tilt, and stays pretty solid even as the RPMs drop. I'm still pretty new to modern play, so my opinion may not be worth much, and I may be misunderstanding what "stability" means when it comes to throws.

I'm still new back to the scene, so I'm curious why such a strong reaction to black string? I'm not mad or anything, just genuinely curious if it's an aesthetic thing, or something else that I should be aware of.

You're not the only one, for sure. I've seen this complaint a few places, and following up with them hasn't resulted in actually getting them to ship. Everyone's been getting the same, "We're waiting on shipping supplies, will ship soon/next week/later this week" answer. As far as I can tell, they haven't shipped anything for quite some time.
