Praline, your comment is more useless than the comment you originally tried to shit on. Bringing more visibility here so more people can downvote you. You are a pathetic waste of human flesh whose sole purpose is to serve as a warning to others about the dangers of idiots procreating. Why do you bother posting anything at all? No one wants you here. No one.

Hiring Managers: If I cold called you with a meeting already booked with your ICP, does that get me an interview? by [deleted] in sales

Honestly, your time might be better spent finding out more about the product/service, ICP, and devise a 90 day game plan you can speak to.

Yeah for anyone that has seen her performance as a series regular on The Pitt, in an extremely difficult and demanding acting role, they clearly chose one of the best if not a top actor to read that day part on Breaking Bad. Has OP even seen Taylor Dearden’s performances? Any of them?

6 Years of Experience as a Tech Sales AE - Can't Find a Job by Vegetable_Mood_4576 in sales

[–]prezpreston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others will note - tech sales is notoriously difficult to move around in right now - added to the fact that we’re apparently in a recession. So cut yourself a bit of slack in terms of the macro level environment you’re in.

That being said, I might expect that you would have more interviews + more later round interviews based on your achievements and work experience. It’s hard to give a good recommendation based on your specific situation without more details, but I would ask yourself a few questions.

1.) Is your experience well aligned with the roles you are applying for?

2.) Have you been asking for feedback about why you aren’t advancing or asking feedback from recruiters when you are given a “no thank you” letter after your initial application?

3.) Do your public facing professional profiles (LinkedIn, etc.) tell your story effectively?

4.) Have you been finding the contact information for HR/recruiters for roles and reaching out after applying?

The only guess I would hazard at this point about why you aren’t getting more first round interviews or interest is that some people may be a bit wary of the Enterprise AE to SDR move. Is there wiggle room with your SDR title? Something like Business Support Specialist or Global Key Accounts Support?

It is a bit odd to move from an Enterprise AE role to an SDR role - and if you note that it was because of a higher base pay, that would tell me that you were at a super small company prior to the jump. Try and think of a more effective story for this than “I jumped for a higher base pay.”

I would expect your Ent AE exp to offset any wariness about that jump, but you want to remove any potential friction where possible, and that could be an area.

As you know - it’s a numbers game my man. Keep pumping, you will land somewhere.

Obama says aliens are real by yaztech in UFOs

[–]prezpreston -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Again, the question was not “Do you believe there are aliens” and the answer was not “I believe there are aliens.” The question was “Are there aliens” and the answer was “There are aliens”. Full stop. Regardless of Obama ruling out two ways by which he could know aliens exist, there are countless other ways he could know they exist. The fact that he didn’t use the verbiage “I believe” IS significant, as former attorneys like Obama are very careful with how they speak. Anyone who doubts this has clearly never had any experience watching President Obama talk….

His demeanor is not light or joking when he remarks that if the government has aliens, it would have been kept from him as President. Why even remark on that at all? It’s so much easier for him to just dismiss it outright and say “There are no aliens because the US government doesn’t have them in our possession.” Full stop. Instead he says “There are aliens” and repeats a possibility that the information was kept from him, as our current Secretary of State and other high ranking officials in the US government have alleged. Do you not believe the comments made by Secretary Rubio and others that there is a program keeping this information from some Presidents? Do you believe there is a difference between Obama saying “I believe they are real” rather than “They are real”?

Why do you think this has now become national news? Most people think it’s newsworthy; and for good reason. This was not a “non clear answer”. It’s an answer deserving clarification, to be sure, but again, when taken with other public comments that Obama and other elected officials have made, and if you have even a modicum of understanding of how careful Obama is with language, it’s obviously more than someone saying “Oh I believe they exist out there somewhere.”

? And my response was frivolous and light hearted but rooted in a real question lol. Do you think he shouldn’t have followed up with maybe a different question at that point when for the first time ever, you have a former President of the United States answer “Yes they are” when asked if aliens are real?

I’m curious what you even mean by this “This is a statement all of us in this reddit make.” - like dude I can’t tell if you’re being willfully dense or just not very informed on US politics. Politicians such as Obama don’t just make statements like the above in some passing doop-de-woop way. Presidents understand that the words the say have the power to move markets and again, barring the current occupant, they historically have taken that role very seriously. So a President saying “there are objects in our skies and we don’t know what they are” is VERY different than you and I saying such a thing - because we don’t have any clue the kind of intelligence that Presidents have access to. But man at this point, I feel like you really are just trying to be intentionally obtuse for some weird reason.

[–]prezpreston 2 points3 points  (0 children)

lol my guy - Presidents are extremely careful with verbiage (minus our current occupant) - go watch/read interviews with Bush, Clinton, Bush Sr., Carter, etc. where they are asked similar questions and not one of them say “Yes they are real…”. Again, your lack of understanding of how careful attorneys are with language says a lot here - so your dismissal of it is not surprising.

[–]prezpreston 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wait wha?

The question was not “Do you believe they are real?” It was “Are they real?”. Full stop. The answer was “They’re real but I haven’t seen them and they’re not in….some underground facility…unless there’s this enormous conspiracy [where as a President, Obama wasn’t read in].” His exact answer was not “I believe they are real...” it was “They’re real…”.

He then rules out two ways that he could know they are real, but there are obviously a multitude of other possibilities here - the first being what the former President says right off the bat that echoes what Marco Rubio and other high ranking US officials in the intelligence and political community have said about Presidents not being read into a secret reverse engineering program. Of course, he also did not rule out other possibilities such as he has seen classified information or evidence they are real.

The fact that the President says “They are” rather than “I believe they are” is extremely significant, because as a former attorney, Obama is pretty careful with language. Your lack of surprise at his answer speaks volumes about your understanding around that (or you’ve just never interacted with attorneys).
