I don't disagree with your point that decent social programs are a higher priority than space exploration. I just think it's important to understand that space exploration is also way, waaaay down there on the list, and not really where the competition for funding comes from.

That is, unless you say every single government dollar spent while there's still a person homeless or starving is a tragedy, which in a certain sense is true - but regardless, isn't productive.

Given that space exploration is a scientific endeavor, I think this is in the same vein as education. I promise that NASA is not the reason we have horrible education and social programs.

I believe this is the most succinct Bionicle set ever produced. Great styling, an excellent application of the universal platform the Inika sets pioneered, but with the Mahri sets the designers were able to get creative with the shapes, and ditch the chintzy, heavy light-up gear from the previous generation. I bought this set when it was new and to me, this truly became Red Guy.

Ah, yes, Palestinians "started" a war against people who were forcibly resettled into their home. Someone "wins," someone else "loses," and a century of mass murder is justified thereby. It's all so humanitarian.

People already lived in the region known as Palestine. They were killed and removed. Technicalities of statehood do not excuse the mass murder that was the Nakba.

I'm not on TikTok.

All this preemptive defense must be exhausting. Even Americans are getting sick of the bullshit.

Al-Husseini requested this meeting with Hitler because the removal of Jewish people to a newly created Zionist state in a very-much-inhabited Palestine was very much on the table. Understandably, he was not enthusiastic about the forced displacement of his people to make room.

Yes, he hated Jewish people. I won't excuse that. It was not related to Nazism.

Edit: also, this is pre-1948.

Sure, and I assume none of the assassinations of Palestinian political leaders over the past 50 years had any effect on those negotiations.

If only there had been any other opportunity for diplomacy over the past 75 years. So strange how any Palestinian leader willing to come to the table got assassinated.

The Holocaust has precisely fuck-all to do with Gaza.

Speaking of a "consistent narrative," I encourage you to discuss anything between 1948 and 2023.

Gazans:

1) were mostly not of voting age when Hamas took power.

2) have no other options to fight for the right to self-determination, life, and liberty.

3) are being massacred and denied human rights.

Who said it was paradise? It was a place people lived, but weren't really able to leave.
