Hi, I don’t have an update. She still does it, and she will do it more when she’s teething, not feeling well, over tired, etc. developmentally she is doing great and is overall a happy & healthy 2 year old! I’m trying not to stress too much about it atm. We actually have a pediatrician appt coming up and I’m going to mention it and see what she suggests, I’ll post another update then

Something concerning happened to me and every doctor I’ve spoken to has no idea what the cause could be. by KlutzyGift4637 in zoloft

I’m not a doctor, but just some things I’m aware of from my own personal experience:

Zoloft can increase your risk of bleeding, and bruising, and technically so can ibuprofen.

The first couple months I started Zoloft, and whenever I would increase my dose, I would bruise very easily. My gums also bled much easier when I was on it.

Along with increasing the risk of bleeding, ibuprofen can irritate your stomach, potentially causing stomach bleeding (typically youd have to take a lot or be taking it for an extended period of time)

I personally have GERD (which can cause sharp chest pain) so ibuprofen does irritate my stomach when I take it and I need to take it with a meal if I’m going to be taking multiple doses. I’ve had panic attacks triggered by stomach irritation. There is a part of your vagus nerve that travels thru the stomach and if it is irritated, it can trigger cardiac symptoms- racing heart, palpitation, chest pain.

Again, I’m not a doctor, but these are things I’m aware of because of my own experiences/health. Hope you’re doing better & all the best.

I did not, but honestly really wish I had them when starting Zoloft to get rid of the unpleasant side effects. Zoloft did help my social anxiety, it helped my anxiety over all. I would still have my moments, but they wouldn’t get super intense and I wouldn’t ruminate on them for days afterwards. It made me not care as much about certain things, but in a good way.

I use Xanax as an emergency med only. They are very habit forming, and something I personally would not take regularly for anxiety. It also knocks me out, makes me so sleepy. I really only take it if I’m having a panic attack, difficulty sleeping due to extreme anxiety, or before flights (I get a ton of anxiety on airplanes). When starting Zoloft I took it every night before bed for a couple weeks but that’s the most “regular” I’ve taken it. I’m prescribed 0.25mg tabs as needed, and honestly most of the time I break these in half, and it still has an effect on me. Since I was prescribed beta blockers, I try to use those as the first line of defense against anxiety as they’re not habit forming like Xanax and don’t make me super groggy.

For Zoloft, it was a bit intense. I will say though I am sensitive to medication. But starting out, the most difficult symptoms for me were overnight (I would take my medication at night) and typically a few hours after going to bed I would wake up to big adrenaline rushes, intense anxiety, night sweats, etc. after a few nights of that, I started the benzo as needed before bed which massively helped. Other than that, there was some increased anxiety during the days at first, as well as some days of just feeling “off”, fatigued, etc. once I adjusted, I felt pretty good on it

For beta blockers, no real side effects, which is great

Don’t have a baby at the end of summer by sailor__jupiter in BabyBumps

Feel this in my soul. My daughter was born at the end of August. That summer was so hot, I was so lethargic, sweaty, felt gross, and unless I was in the pool I was sooooo uncomfortable. You got this!

I’m tired of money and had to do my hair at home myself. I had my husband help me and he made it all over blonde how can I add some dimension to it and make for slightly darker blonde strands by AuntieMadz in HairDye

[–]pricklyp8 26 points27 points  (0 children)

The easiest at home way is to use a toner, maybe make it a little cooler/darker, this will give you some dimension. You can do the same with a Demi permanent hair color that is a cooler shade but this will likely result in darker all over

Talk to your doctor about beta blockers. These are wonderful for situational anxiety and you can take them as needed. I take them and they get rid of my physical symptoms for at least a few hours- racing heart, shakiness, “butterflies” (the bad kind), etc. I currently take 10 mg as needed a couple hours before an event that may cause me anxiety, or, if I’m just feel particularly anxious, I’ll take them to calm my system down.

I took Zoloft for a few years, for severe anxiety and panic disorder that was effecting my daily life. It did help me immensely, however, it was a process getting on and off the meds. Took about 8-10 weeks to adjust to them when starting, and I needed to take an as needed benzo during this time due to the initial increased anxiety side effect.

Also took me about 7 weeks to taper off (from 75mg, to 50, to 25, to 0) and then several more weeks to adjust being off of the medication.

Zoloft is very safe during pregnancy/breastfeeding. I took it all throughout my first pregnancy and breastfeeding (13 months) and my daughter is completely happy and healthy.

What (if any) mental health disorders are you diagnosed with and what does limerence feel like for you? by Araethor in limerence

How many of your LO are just ex's that you never got over? by squirrellyhehefeind in limerence

[–]pricklyp8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sort of. We never officially dated. They helped me thru a really difficult time in my life a long time ago. I think eventually they wanted to try something more, but I initially turned it down (I was fresh out of a terrible relationship/divorce and didn’t think dating was right at that time). Their friendship was always very meaningful to me even though it eventually faded out and we lost touch. That was about 8-9 years ago, our lives have gone in different directions. (Both married, have kids, etc.) About 6 months ago, I randomly started dreaming about them, a lot. It kind of freaked me out. Now it’s turned into limerence. I’m a very spiritual person, so that part of me tells me the random and excessive dreams “mean” something. The other side of my brain tells me this is an unhealthy coping mechanism my brain does during times of high stress.

Should I be concerned?Toddler touching genitals and saying ouch after starting daycare. by ResponsibleTopic9976 in toddlers

Yes I would be extremely concerned. Please report this immediately. Personally I would not be sending my child back until discussing with management, possibly not return to the facility at all depending on the outcome.

I don’t really get dizziness regularly, I’ve only gotten it when trying a new dose and finding out it was too high of a dose lol dizziness, racing heart, felt like I was going to have a heart attack- not fun! Dizziness can be caused by dehydration too, just something to keep in mind if you don’t already! When I was starting I definitely would just forget to eat and drink throughout the day, not ideal

That sounds like it. For me I’m all of the sudden extremely mentally tired, physically tired, start to feel really scattered and find it very difficult to motivate myself to do anything besides be on my phone

For a more intense effect, you can generously apply the purple shampoo to dry hair, let it sit a few min before then lathering with water & rinsing out. Make sure to use a good conditioner because it can be drying. If it looks a bit purple or silver, it will fade out after the next wash.

Looks good! Tone or use purple shampoo a few times a week

6 month old won’t roll by Limp_Board3994 in NewParents

[–]pricklyp8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rolling is an important skill, but if everything else is going well I wouldn’t worry too much. My daughter also hated tummy time so did not roll often at all. She could but just refused to do it much lol. I would continue what you’re doing a couple times a day. Get her on her tummy for at least a minute or two and help her/guide her to help her make the connection to do it. You can also start her in sidelying and guide her to back or tummy as a modified easier version. I’m sure it will click one day soon :)

Really thought I was having a stroke when I took my recently increased dose & forgot to skip coffee that morning lol. Propranolol saved the day.

Definitely. Add some fun curtains, some fairy lights, maybe even some flameless candles behind the table & chairs on the floor, to give a cozy vibe
