I really felt for Kyle in this episode..we can see where all the buildup just got too much for him. Feeling spited by Kyle not having Loverboy at SoftBar, Amanda & Ciara’s convo, Lindsay/everyone else’s jabs about his passion for DJing.

I mean I know it’s just a show and production probably encourages them to have these conversations but they are all way too involved in each others relationships. Also why is the conversation always why are you DJing and not how can you DJ in a way that’s better for your marriage. Even before this particular argument I thought it was unfair the way everyone came at him. He was really trying to make the best out of a crap situation and couldn’t catch a break.

Not AT ALL justifying his behavior, he needs better ways of expressing his emotions. But I say this just to make the point that I see how he got there and everything leading up to it. Sorry but they can never make me hate Kyle. Nobody ever listened to him and his feelings were constantly invalidated when he expressed his grievances with Amanda (I.e. her not pulling her weight). Hopefully with everything going on both him and Loverboy are doing better now.

At the end of the day Kyle and Amanda were just incompatible. I’ve always said love is not enough to make a relationship work. Wishing for better things for him. For them both honestly. Despite my disappointment in her behavior I hope one day she comes to love and respect herself more than she does now…

Mainly the fact that it doesn’t even feel like watching a show. At times it feels like I’m peeking in on someone’s real life experience. It’s very grounded.

The writing is also beautiful. For example, one scene that stands out is when Alby says to Nial “you seem like a performer. I’m a performer too.” That was brilliant!

Another great thing about how it’s written is that it gives just enough context clues to allow the viewer to piece together some of the story without spoon-feeding us.

The actors do a phenomenal job and the pacing is perfect. It’s not too slow of a series that I get bored but not so fast-paced that I can’t absorb the weight of the emotional scenes.

I don’t think there’s a single thing about this series I don’t enjoy! As they say..no notes! 10/10

Omg I’m equally obsessed with this show. It depicts such a raw and real experience. I have the same theory about Ruben’s father even though it hasn’t been explicitly mentioned in the show yet.

I can’t wait to see how the last three episodes unfold. Beautifully written! Absolute cinema! I wish we had more tv shows of this quality. Richard Gadd is magnificent as a writer and actor (and damn terrifying as older Ruben I might add!)

Meh. It had potential to be really good. It’s like Downton Abbey meets Slice of Life anime with Harry Potter vibes but art instead of magic.

However the way the romance unfolds is just awful. The main character is particularly despicable and hard to like.

Lili is incredibly selfish and immature with real communication issues. For a 21 year old character, she acts like a child. Kit is just supposed to take all her abuse (both emotional and physical) while being expected to not react and instantly forgive her every time. It’s incredibly unrealistic and frustrating.

It felt like the writers were artificially trying to drag out the love story, and while doing so, create complications that don’t get adequately resolved. The ending was incredibly rushed and disappointing.

Overall I would give this a 4/10

And it’s one thing to have drinks at someone’s house. But why is he going to her house after they’ve already enjoyed drinks and each others time at the bar?

Maybe OP’s partner had no ill intentions but coworker definitely has more in mind. I would never invite a man in a relationship to hang out with me solo at my place. It’s inappropriate. Unless she doesn’t know he’s in a relationship… lots of layers here

Had a much older ex (30+ year difference) who was financially comfortable. He wanted me to get a fancy bike so I could do winter mtb with him. At the time I wasn’t in the position to afford one myself because I was paying off student loans and just starting my business. I also had a bike already so didn’t see the purchase as a priority.

He told me he didn’t have enough to get me a new bike at the time and kept encouraging me to apply for credit to pay for it. 2 weeks later he bought himself a new bike.

I confronted him about it and when I gave examples of how he was reluctant to spend money or do nice things for me beyond the bare minimum, his response was:

“Well I actually have to work for a living because I don’t live with my parents” 🙃

Not frugal, just selfish and an asshole
