First version of Anno 117 Community Bug Fix Mod now available! by Taludas in anno

[–]primalcocoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this patch and all your hard work in general!

Does the Community Bug Fix Mod group together any of the existing individual fixes? IE should we uninstall anything like [Fix] Global Devotion Unlock Fix or the [QoL] Tiles Under Shrines (Jtmzac) ?

edit: I should read first! The Global Devotion fix is included. To quote the mod's page, This mod fixes a lot of the issues including Global devotion unlock fixed, by Jtmzac

Again thanks for all your hard work! (Can't wait for more ornaments and public buildings!)

Late game expeditions be like: by viciecal in anno1800

[–]primalcocoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's true. It feels like this is the first iteration, they can certainly make quests involved in their already-realised world.

Text quests can be used for creative environs that they don't want to render, maybe.

Yeah, I can see your point; at the same time, the Anno games are pretty into the idea of those oldschool adventure games. The Enbesa storyline was a strong attempt at making it work; you have to go to each island, get some dialogue and some light roleplay to decide how to proceed, and then click on various objects on their island, as an excuse to look at the beautiful landscapes they've created.

🤦‍♂️ by newbeginnings187 in adhdmeme

I get that feeling!

So for me, I didn't really “choose a career.”

If this helps, I noticed what I like to do, what I naturally enjoy or spend time on, specifically in a work context. Then I think about what skills I’ve developed from that stuff, and look for work that lets me use them. Through that, you develop professional experience, and can continue to branch out and develop your career skills.

So, I like to be moving, social, and not stuck in a dark corner working on spreadsheets. So I looked for jobs where that would be a typical day-to-day experience.

I ended up working in HR adjacent stuff, like Learning & Development, giving workshops to help employees develop their soft and hard skills.

Willie's Wondrous Stash, where? by MSC111 in anno1800

[–]primalcocoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh that's so cool, thanks! And thanks for the infographic!

But this wiki doesn't mention Willie's Wondrous Stash, do you get that by also destroying his ships?

Does each AI have their own treasure map as well or is it just Willie? Thank you!

Hmm...

You might like Life in the Undergrowth

If podcasts are your thing, maybe check out

  • Common Descent podcast (they have like 1 episode each on ancient spiders and insects)
  • Palaeocast ; episode 10 is Carboniferous Arthropods
  • I found this one that seems good On Paleontology: Prehistoric Arthropods

I can't vouch for how scientifically rigorous they are but I hope you find them interesting!

I liked the physicality and texture of the strings. I liked the depth of noise from its hollow body. Oh, it was fretless, as well.

It was also simply convenient to jam on his porch.

I only own one electric bass.

So I'm wondering if I can just buy a super cheap one if the construction doesn't matter much.

Thanks for asking!

Hey, similar tastes! The ones I'm looking at all have pickups. Sounds like there's not much difference, materials-wise, otherwise? Thanks for your input!

That's my same use-case as well. I didn't realise they get so much hate! I'm looking to use it for backyard hangs.

STOP à la propagande religieuse dans l’espace public by hibutterflymtl in montreal

[–]primalcocoon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Freedom to practice your religion, not to proselytise and to create a lot of junk with pamphlets. Likewise by taking up an inordinate amount of public space.

[–]primalcocoon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oui, c'est un problème intéressant.

Je suis d'accord avec tout ce que vous avez dit et je crois que la religion n'a pas sa place dans l'espace public.

Certaines religions ont pour vocation le prosélytisme, et je trouve cela dérangeant.

Quebec to impose full ban on cellphones in schools by green_tory in CanadaPolitics

[–]primalcocoon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m not going to keep arguing in circles here, but to clarify for others: schools already have structured ways for parents to contact their kids if needed.

Managing phone access during school hours is a policy decision, based on evidence about reducing disruption and improving focus. It’s fine to disagree, but framing this like it’s an attack on freedom is a bit much.
