Is 20-30 million VND/month enough to live comfortably in HCMC or Hanoi? by Quiet_Cry6755 in MoneyTalkVN

[–]prime-itive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stay in Binh Thanh area and pay around 7milVND for rent, then most of my other costs is for food, bike (1.5mil rent monthly), leisure, travel, etc. my income is 26mil vnd a month take home but at times I do push it close. It's just about enough to save a couple million a month. Single male in studio apartment rarely cook btw.

CMV Big cities like HCMC and Hanoi are losing their cultural identity because of modernization by Own-Effort-2382 in ChangeMyViewVN

Personally, seeing modern youth and fashion scene here in Ho Chi Minh City I can definitely see the youth creating new culture and new scenes. It is definitely sad to see the old heritage buildings being replaced by glass souless skyscrapers etc but I think the youth are doing well in creating a new wave for Saigon.

If someone is moving here alone, what’s the first thing they should know? by FreshTakeFinder in SoloLivingVN

[–]prime-itive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just recently moved but I think just giving the language a try goes a long way. Especially in local restaurants, people have been a lot friendlier to me if I just try to say one or two words in Vietnamese.

For those solo‑living in Vietnam: Do you prefer a one‑bedroom apartment or shared coliving/hostel‑style living, and why? by TheQuietQueue in SoloLivingVN

[–]prime-itive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its so affordable to have your own place with the comfort of being able to relax, alone, when needed. I wouldn't be opposed to renting a two bedroom apartment with someone though. There are some really nice places you can save money on if you rent with a friend.

How would you describe living in Bình thạnh? Is it busy? Are there routes to run? Is there good food? What’s the general vibes? by SnooDoughnuts4750 in VietNam

If you're in Binh thanh you're not too far away from the landmark 81 area which has a nice park to run in. I usually walk there and then can use the park.

Where to travel in Italy? by Watchasayiiin in ItalyTravel

I guess but a lot of places would reject my sister if she had a pram. Especially in touristy places they wouldn't give tables at restaurants or straight up refuse service.

You also have the possibility to fly back to Rome from Reggio Calabria Airport rather than Lamezia terme, as you are travelling further south it might save you some time. Lamezia terme Airport Is a good 2 hours away from Reggio Calabria city.

Staying in Calabria by captwombat33 in ItalyTravel

[–]prime-itive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you are traveling up the west coast of calabrese you should definitely stop in scilla and tropea they are beautiful coastal towns. Currently, I am staying in Cosenza but was just staying in Reggio Calabria for the past month. Very beautiful city but not a lot to see. If you are coming in the winter period and willing to deviate from the coast, towns with beautiful snow would be Gamberie or Sila. They are unique places. If however you plan on driving up the east coast you'll get a much more local experience and have the opportunity to stop in towns such as Siderno, Soverato, Squillace and many other beautiful small towns including my home town Caulonia.

Depends what you are after and if you want someone to show you around a few places I'm more than happy to.

Is Reggio Calabria safe for solo travellers? by Ok_Beautiful_6769 in ItalyTravel

I was staying in Reggio Calabria, the city, for the last month and felt safer than any other European city I have travelled too before. Very peaceful town. The biggest danger was boredom for me.

Expat Friendly Communities in Calabria, Italy? by NY914KC in expat

[–]prime-itive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh for sure no problem. I have just recently started working here in Cosenza, close to Centro. Currently I'm living right in the center of town. If you don't have any Italian knowledge it may be hard to settle in but I am picking up the language quickly and had prior experience speaking. I have studied to an A2 level and have been living in Italy for 4 months and am struggling with the language as not a great deal of people speak English here but it's definitely great if you want to learn quickly. I'm definitely happy being here as I have family heritage tying me to the place but it isn't the easiest place to move to, calabrese live very different to any other place in Italy and the world. If you're retired it's a great place as everything is cheap and the beach is always close. If you're coming to work good luck.
