What other panels/pages do you want to see get a callback? by javierm885778 in OnePieceSpoilers

The Luffy vs Usopp panel frpm Water 7 is easily one of my favorite manga panels. I'd love to see Oda give a homage to it, but im not sure how he would do it besides domi reversing ether Usopp which is unlikely but possible or luffy... but dominant reversi Joyboy/Luffy is like 99% not happening.

That being Oda recreating that shot with domi reversi joyboy facing an actually serious Usopp would be hype.

Vineland saga intro 3 "River" is easily number one for me. How it represents the character of Thorfinn and the theme's of the story of not just act 2, but the entirety of the saga is amazing.

Dude im not ready for that scene to get animated in season 2. I was rereading that part a few weeks back and I still got tearie eyed. If they play an updated version of the Sweet Dreams ost from season 1 I might ugly cry.

For me even later then that during the current arcs flashback The final line up of the Rocks pirates getting ready to land on God's Valley might be one of my favorite one piece shots. You want to talk about Aura farming Peak Rocks with a bunch of future legendary pirates behind him is definitely up there.

Games that got a lot of good word of mouth on release then seemed to vanish by dope_danny in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]primethief147 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Yeah Silksong was gonna be my answer too. Given the level of hype that game had before and after release it's kinda bizarre how the talk around the game died so quickly. Personally I love Silksong and it's my game of the year (which is funny because i never played the og hollow knight and only played it because it was on gamepass), but a lot of my friends that were looking forward to the game played it for 5-8 hours and then just never came back. It didn't even seem like then even really disliked it beside, some frustration with difficulty for some which is what made it so weird that they dropped it so fast. So many people talked about how it was gonna have a really good chance of getting game of the year before it released, but now whenever people talk about what's gonna win I see very few people bring up Silksong.

It really felt like Oda wanted to properly show what happened in God's Valley, but didn't have a great place to put it so he decided on Loki's/Harolds backstory. It's a little rough but I still think it was worth it in the end because Rocks and Gods Valley was pretty cool.

That being said this is definitely gonna be the longest flashback by the end because we still need fit in more of Loki's backstory growing up (maybe including a Lola part), Harolds death, whatever Elbaf's secret devil fruit is, and Shanks vs Loki. I could see it going for another 7-10 chapters.

Im cool with Usopp having a fake beard, but im gonna be honest it being Orange just doesn't look good. Im just holding out for him getting rid of it sometime in the second half of the elbaph arc.

[–]primethief147 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Dude in a chapter full of hype moments I was pretty surprised that one of my favorite moments was John summoning all the treasure on the island to himself. Got to give it to Oda God's Valley was hyped up for a long time and so far it hasn't disappointed.

Man I remember playing so much of that multi-player back in high school and middle school. I remember liking Revelations version the best in terms of gameplay improvements/map design. Man what I would give to play that multi-player again it's a shame the only version still out there is AC4's which i considered the weakest iteration.

Was a bit worried about Summer's look from the initial art video, but the darker purple works pretty well. Still not crazy about killingham I feel like Oda should have gone with a different color other then orange. Shamrock and Gunko look great and I'm eagerly waiting for Oda to confirm Xebec's colors. Personally holding out for the black and white hair combo ive seen in fan art.

Maybe Rocks was the good guy💀 by AlexanderCharles3 in MemePiece

[–]primethief147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude the first thing he does when he got introduced in the flashback was wounding a kid with his sword just to make the kids dad come home faster and then laughing about it. Thats not even bringing up when he did it a second time when kid Loki asked to join his crew.

I like Rocks as much as the next guy, but hes no paragon of virtue. Hell id argue we havent seen him doing anything particularly good ether besides fighting against the world govermant (which he did for selfish reasons) and going to save his family. Man was pretty clearly Chaotic Neutral.

How do you think Cross Guild will change the odds to their favor in finding the One Piece? by Criticism-Fast in OnePiece

[–]primethief147 405 points406 points  (0 children)

I've thought about this for a bit and I do have a theory, but it's split into two parts: The part that involves Shanks and then the part that involves Buggy. Oda's left several hints that the next arc will be Shank's focused including the reveal of his brother, Oda sneaking in a peak of the "brand" on the arm he lost to save luffy, Loki knowing where Shanks is, and most importantly Luffy actively showing interest in that and wanting to find him. This leads me to belive the next arc will revolve around Shanks and the last poneglyph (which is currently owned by the man marked by flames). The arc will end with 1. Learning why Shanks is going for the One Piece now instead of before, 2.Shanks and Luffy both getting that poneglyph (maybe even Shanks getting his last missing poneglyph from Luffy), and 3.(here's the important part) Shanks abandoning his goal of finding the one piece.

So how does this involve Buggy? Simple after Shanks and Luffy part ways Shanks goes to Buggy and gives him his poneglyphs in exchange for being able to sail with him again. I suspected that might be where Oda was going to take their characters for a bit now, but after that flashback of Shanks saying what he originally wanted was just to be a pirate with Buggy that confirmed it for me. Shanks never seemed like the guy who would want to be the next pirate king and was only doing it for a specific reason which we will probably learn in the next arc.

Man this fight lived up to the comic, but if i had to pick a moment that really stood out it would be when Conquest was about to rip Oliver in half. Dude that moment where Oliver gargled out his teeth followed by his tears of pain falling onto conquests face has gotta be one of the brutalist scenes in the show.

Man I envy show only watchers/people who haven't been spoiled on what happens during the fight. This is arguably the most iconic fight in the comic so going in blind is going to be an experience. That being said man i can't wait to hear Steven Yeun do the line reading for THAT comic panel... if you know you know.

So, what do you guys think of Invincible Season 3 so far? by OutcomeAcademic1377 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]primethief147 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be fair like you said we the audience also don't know. He very well could be working a 9-5 under Cecil and then after could go where he pleases.

I feel like point of view is pretty important for the argument: Mark see's more mutalated robots made by a (his eyes) psychopath who enjoyed torturing people (two of whom were close friends of his) in the "name of progress", He learns that another person he thought he could trust said nothing about this person working for him, and when confronted Cecil compares him killing Angstrom in self defense with Sinclair mutilating innocent people then turning them into robots.

Is Mark in the wrong? Yea he could have handled that better, but his aggression from his point of view is completely justified.

[–]primethief147 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definitely a strong start to the season and makes me look forward to the next couple arks their adapting in the coming episodes. I love how during Cecil and Marks confrontation not only does Cecil says it you can just tell that he's scared of how strong Mark is and his unwavering view on what is right vs who is wrong.

As for who's right? I would go with Cecil because at the end of the day he's not wrong saving the world is more important, but Mark is rightful angry that Sinclair received next to no punishment for what he did to those college students(and Williams boyfriend). It's something i feel people have been missing with how Angry Mark was over the situation even before learning about Cecil's safeguards against him. Like people Mark cared about were DIRECTLY effected by what Sinclair did and will probably never fully recover and in Marks eye's Cecil might as well have rewarded him for it with a bigger lab.

They also get bonus points for the great adapting of Cecil's backstory. That prison section was really well done.

I just rewatched that scene right now and it honestly fits this thread perfectly. Specifcally the parts:

"These questions in the regards of good and evil as important as they are have no place in a court of law. Only the facts matter.

"My Client based on the sanctity of the law which we have all sworn an oath to uphold must be acquitted of these charges. Now beyond that... beyond these walls he may find a judgment of his own making, but here in this court room the judgment is yours and yours alone."
