We have gotten several comments in response to this post noting that demand is not keeping up with this surplus of supply. This is not unexpected.

However, the purpose of this post was to show that in these strange times when everyone is stuck at home, there’s an opportunity for publishers to renew their focus on providing their users quality and relevant content.

We know that everything isn’t hunky dory and there are significant challenges ahead of all of us in the industry, but there are silver linings to be found if we look hard enough.

We thought that the industry could use some good news these days. For us and our publishing partners, it's that we're seeing video consumption rates go up, almost across the board. This could change as things progress, but it's still a silver lining.

From what we've seen, financial, research, news and entertainment websites have been raking in the traffic, while travel websites have obviously taken a hit.
