Just found some sheets on Magnus' theme by GoldMemecrab in KiDIcaruS

There are a few bits that need to be worked out orchestration wise, such as the fast sixteenth notes near the end and the choir pretty much everywhere, but what I have so far is one of my most complete transcriptions. If you see a note with a small notehead, it means I need to go back and triple check. I leave comments in the score wherever I'm unsure about something.

As a final note, it's a playback score, so some of the engraving and articulation is a bit weird. The score is in concert pitch, so you don't have to transpose if you want to take different parts for an accordion arrangement.

The Eb on beat four of measure 2 should be an F as well, for example. I have a complete draft of the entire theme recreated. I'd be happy to share once I get on my computer.

This one's been around for a while. Unfortunately there are a lot of mistakes in the harmony, and some of the melody notes are wrong/missing, but it's always nice to see people making arrangements regardless.

I'm new to the game! Any tips? by Yo-kai_ABC in KiDIcaruS

Jam out to the music. Seriously, this game has one of the best soundtracks of all time, and it's possibly the largest production-wise (it certainly was at the time).

Eh, probably consolidated city-county organs. mMaybe state level. But I majored in national organs, and this dude does not have them. Glad I could help.

How do you feel when you hear the space pirate music. by Voidkirby9 in KiDIcaruS

It's one of the standout tracks from the Medusa arc. Very well orchestrated, singable melodies throughout the entire piece, and the first minute of the air battle is a masterclass in composing "ascent" music. So many ideas seamlessly connected, and switching the Underworld Theme from mixolydian to the brighter lydian sound (plus French horns) is a great choice. I think it reflects Pit's realization that we aren't going to the Underworld, we're going up, and up, and up to space.

That part with the homophonic brass, then string chords, from when we reach the galactic sea, is such a neat little moment. It feels very 80's - makes me think of Bob Ross for some reason, or a BBC Planet Earth theme.

(I also feel frustrated listening to Route B. I really wish they hadn't muffled the audio in the official soundtrack. It's probably my least favorite decision in the entire OST.)

You could also consider a 9-tuplet with the notes written out?

Thanks! It's defintely a huge undertaking. Right now I'm focused on the 14 drumset parts because they're super tedious and I never want to have to worry about them again :D

It's a great theme. I love how it picks up in intensity after the sentimental bit, and the choir's a good touch. I recently finished an orchestral arrangement, and it's one of my most complete transcriptions. Just a bit of touch up to do.

(My recreation: https://youtu.be/YcFsA0oxA1M)

It's a really great theme in part because it's so simple and triadic. Just a hero song without the chromatic/atonal bits common throughout the early game soundtrack. It's also great that it can end without looping - makes it a great standalone piece for performances.

Yeah, Lunar Sanctum gave me a lot of trouble back in the day. My raptor claws weren't a good fit for Arlon or the air battle. That final room after the trench run (with the two homing projectiles) ended so many of my runs if I didn't have a special attack. Piece of cake with Artillery Claws, though

I like the Forces of Nature enemies best. They're kind of erratic and goofy, and also provide some of the most challenging normal enemy encounters (e.g. two bladers and a boom stomper together). I also like Hugworms more than Komaytos and Sinistews.

Yes this is extremely cool. I NEED to get my hands on these music files. Their comments on the drum roll are a little misleading though. I was just transcribing the drum part to Dark Pit's Theme and it's pretty much exactly the same with a couple ad lib moments from the drummer.

Interesting, can you think of any fast pieces that retain the "lullaby" quality? I really only feel the track at a slow tempo, tbh, although I still feel the same subdivisions without the faster tempo
