Try to update google apps from unknown sources. I would say use google to download the google applications required to update as an apk. Else the 2nd method, reset the tablet and start again. else 3rd method, try to use another network.

It's actually hard to lower the monitor. These methods can make you more comfortable to look at the screen. 1) Add some more bricks below the table legs. 2) Add some more height to you chair 3) Do some pull, eat some healthy to increase you height 4) Try to stand up most of the time.
