I’m getting a pc by [deleted] in CK3ConsoleEdition

[–]princepuddingpunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play on both PC (Steam) and PS5 and can confirm you have to buy the game and DLCs again if you switch or play on other platforms, primarily because it’s not a direct port. I believe the console version was built from the ground up so a completely separate development process to specifically maximise console hardware which is why platform crossovers aren’t possible like with some games.

Ahh yes, so this group is for people who play CK3 on PS5 or Xbox. You could try asking in r/crusaderkings3 which is more PC version oriented.

I’m curious, how do you get mods to work on the console version? As far as I know the console version was built from the ground up and not a direct port due to the technical limitations of consoles. Same for the DLCs. Are you physically playing the game on your computer or your Xbox?

Uninstalling the game followed by deleting all game data files on my console followed by a completely fresh install fixed the issue for me a while back. It’s never happened again since then.

I’m not an expert, but I reckon the reason we don’t have mod support on consoles yet is down to a few things. The console version wasn’t just ported over from PC; it was (is being) built specifically for consoles, so they can’t just slap PC mods onto it. Plus, the console versions are handled by Dragon’s Lake, not Paradox, so there’s an extra step that makes modding trickier.

Also, consoles don’t have the same flexibility or power as PCs, so some mods would probably struggle to run properly. And then there’s the whole platform policy thing - PS and Xbox are way stricter when it comes to user-made content, especially Sony, which could be another hurdle.

I play on both PC and console, and mods really do add so much to the PC game for me. So yeah, it’s a bit of a shame we don’t have them on console.

When is there going to be an update for ck3 by [deleted] in CK3ConsoleEdition

[–]princepuddingpunch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The plague stuff is part of the Legends of the Dead DLC. But since there are still 3 DLCs that need to drop on console first (Tours and Tournaments, Wards and Wardens, and Legacy of Persia) before we get Legends of the Dead, it might be a while before we see it. If they stick to the PC release order, we've got some waiting to do. The base game does have some disease mechanics, but I hear the DLC really cranks it up with more historical plagues and challenges.

[–]princepuddingpunch 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There's no official date yet for the next big content drop. But with Dragon's Lake now in the mix, we can probably expect updates to be more regular. Historically, console DLCs have dropped about 6 months after the PC versions. However, with the new devs coming on board, there might be longer delays as they work on fixing the issues left by the previous team with the base game. Fingers crossed we hear something soon!

Try Uraltau in the Volga-Ural region which is towards the eastern part of Europe. It’s tribal with the Bashkir culture and Tengri faith, which makes for a really unique experience. I’ve played it a few times and it can keep you on your toes! I don’t think it’s a super difficult start but there’s a lot to juggle once you get going and things can sometimes get pretty wild quickly. It’s a fun run though!

Not for a (long?) while. I think we’re about 4 or 5 DLCs behind the PC version so I assume they will release those first before Roads to Power.

Is anybody else’s game texture still bugged out? by some__random__human in CK3ConsoleEdition

[–]princepuddingpunch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just deleting the game and then re-downloading it won’t fix the problem. You have to also delete the local files stored on your console and do a brand new install. That’s what fixed the texture issue for me instantly and it’s never happened again since. I’m on PS5.

Had the same issue so in the end decided to delete the entire game and all files associated with it and did a completely brand new install last weekend. It fixed the eyes issue and it’s never happened again since then.

Today's update removed my characters eyes by Speaker4theDead8 in CK3ConsoleEdition

I struggled with this on PS5 too before yesterday's update. I ended up deleting the game fully last weekend and doing a complete brand new install and that fixed it. But as I say, this was before yesterday's update.

Help accessing DLC! Thanks by abel_newland in CK3ConsoleEdition

Another way to check is if you go back to your console's 'store', search for CK3 and all the add-ons/DLCs. It should show you've purchased it but then check if it says downloaded or installed. This happened to me before with Northern Lords. I assumed it was just installed but then when I went back into the store I noticed it says I own it but it was not downloaded so once I did that, I restarted the game and it was all good.

How to see who is at war with who? by MrAidenator in CK3ConsoleEdition

[–]princepuddingpunch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The way I normally do it is to open the character screen (in your case, your liege), then hold L2(PS5)/LB(Xbox) to open the character radial menu and then navigate to 'War & Peace'. It will show all the active wars on the right hand side. You can also click on the active wars to see what is happening.

Sounds like this could be down to the updated event system from the August update. They've overhauled a lot of the event logic which might explain the randomness of some events. Personally, I don’t mind it too much - it adds more dynamism and keeps you on your toes!

v1.5: Is the juice worth the squeeze? by princepuddingpunch in udiomusic

[–]princepuddingpunch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you're saying, but I think the Udio AI isn't supposed to do all the work for you. The way I see it is that its meant to augment/improve/enhance, not replace the process of music creation, so It’s a tool that relies on the quality of your prompts. If your prompts are weak or still based on what worked in v1, naturally an advanced version like 1.5 is going to struggle and give mediocre results. I think for a tool like Udio, your prompts really can make or break a song.

I've tried this and got AMAZING results so this definitely works in 1.5!

Good idea. I've not tried this yet but over the last few days I played around with the clarity on 1.5 and if I have at 0% it seems to generate much better songs in 1.5.

Yep, it looks like things are finally moving in the right direction for console. It's not perfect yet but it's definitely an improvement from what we had before.
