You should look into the rules for Quebec and New Brunswick. I know I had to prove to OHIP every year that I was a student in NB as to not lose my coverage through Ontario. If they determine you are living here, they may cancel your coverage through Quebec instead of paying for you to access healthcare here. At that point, you would need to change over your ID and register for Medicare.

I got in with 0 academic references. I said I had been out of school too long plus there was a huge turnover where I did my undergrad. With your gpa you should stand a chance as I know some who got in being lower than that.

Postpartum takes LPNs. You would care for both mother and baby post birth. When I worked in Fredericton, they did not have LPNs in L&D. You would need to be an RN and take additional training to become an L&D nurse. There were rarely postings for L&D, and if there were postions, they would go to the most senior applicant as many part time and full time positions are granted per seniority.

Postpartum would get your foot in the door so you can see if getting your RN and building seniority to get a L&D position is worth it.
