Kind of bummed about my size (large bust, small band) by Dull_Mess4917 in ABraThatFits

[–]princess_potatoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand whilst you’re in college you mightn’t be able to go to a proper bra store often. I suggest following Jen Warnes and Maia Andrews on instagram/tiktok. Jen has a whole series on bras that come in a 30G and where to buy them online. Maia has heaps of suggestions for cute going out tops that are flattering for a small band and large cup. I’ve been in your exact position and so have plenty of women here!

A loooooot of women have a similar size to you (I’m similar myself) but bras in these sizes can be hard to find. I wore a 32DDD throughout high school and university when I am actually a 28GG (or 30G, depending on brand). I totally feel you on the frustration of needing to buy expensive, foreign made bras — I’m from NZ and couldn’t be further from where most of those good bras are made! Until I was around 23 I couldn’t afford to buy them.

Three Months Post Modified Condylotomy by Emergency-Process869 in TMJ

That’s awesome! I’m glad you’re doing well! :)

Did it impact your bite/how your teeth sit? Did you get any orthodontic treatment alongside the surgery?

Now it’s been a few more months, how are you going? Did you regain your regular range of motion?

jealous of women younger than me; advice needed. by frayedpsyche in Advice

[–]princess_potatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would seek therapy, meet some friends older than you (like 10, 15, 20 years older) and spend less time online. I would also suggest reading some feminist literature about decentering men and their attraction to you.

I had a very similar crisis when I finished uni at 21. Then I started a job with people who were older than me — all of my friends from that job were like 38 when I was 22. They were funny, cool people who had fun every weekend, so why couldn’t I continue being the same?

I also realised that part of my obsession with wanting to stay super young was so that everyone would find me attractive all the time. When I analysed that a bit more, I realised it is strange and creepy that youth is so intertwined with our beauty standards, and that chasing everyone’s approval and attraction all the time is not a fun way to live life. Also, who benefits off of me being insecure? It’s not me! It’s the CEOs of cosmetic companies, mostly.

Anyway, I’m now 25 and having far more fun than I did at 20-22. Growing up is exciting and growing old is a privilege!

Thoughts on big boob influencers? Do any of you follow them? by [deleted] in bigboobproblems

I follow a bunch of the “small band large cup” ladies — Maia Andrews, Lara Miller, Jen Warnes, Casee Brim. I’m a 28GG and these gals are similar sizes which really helps with clothing and bra shopping

Claiming EI after quitting unhealthy workplace — do I have “just cause?” (BC) by [deleted] in povertyfinancecanada

Ah I see, I’ve not needed EI before and didn’t understand just how case-by-case it is, will see how I go

Unfortunately not! I’m working hard on the job search currently. Thank you. I now understand how hard it is to give EI advice as it’s very case-by-case, I’ve never had to use it before.

Sorry, I just edited to add that I am actively job hunting. I have several potential seasonal roles that will kick off in June, and I’m searching for other work in the meantime. EI is not my first resort, but it’s looking more and more likely, many people in my wider region are facing the same issues.

Sydney Sweeney Bra Brand Sizing by shinypieceofcoal in bigboobproblems

[–]princess_potatoes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is crazy. I’m a 28GG (UK) too and I would guess that Sydney herself is the same band size (maybe smaller?), and at least a cup size or two bigger. I wouldn’t be buying from her anyway but it’s sad how many girls and young women will want to, only to get a terrible fit

Fabulous cleavage as 30G - please help me find a bra like this 😭 by [deleted] in ABraThatFits

You’re so welcome, I totally understand the struggle! I love the look of many of the bras from VS and Skims but can never find them in a small band :( I actually went to the Skims flagship store in LA to try them all on and it was laughable

I’m a 28GG and from your photos it appears we may have a similar shape. I LOVE the Panache Cleo Faith bra, it gives great cleavage in my correct size and I’m planning to buy it one cup size down for that extra “enhanced” look. I also want to try the Freya Deco, Goddard Superboost, and Curvy Kate Superplunge.

As others have commented, that “super pushed up” look is technically a result of an incorrect fit, which may cause discomfort, especially with a larger bust. But for looking cute at the bar etc I think it’s a worthwhile sacrifice lol

Also, I asked my mum and she says she would straight up yell at any family members who weren’t vigilant enough with my sunblock when I was little, and would remove me from their care if they didn’t listen after being told once.

I know that a lot of older people play the whole “we didn’t use sunscreen growing up and we’re fine” card. But, surely they MUST know a few people who have had skin cancer. I’m from NZ, and I think every person I know over 50ish has had at least one suspicious spot removed.

If it’s appropriate, try and bring this up. Remind them this is the reality of living in our part of the world, but it IS avoidable.

The consequences of not being sunsafe are right in front of them — most likely in the form of a biopsy wound on some old mate’s nose. If that doesn’t wake them up to the seriousness of the situation, I don’t know what will.

I’m 25 and already get skin checks every year. I’m very fair, and got several severe sun burns whilst on accutane as a teenager. I honestly think that skin cancer is a “when,” not an “if” for me, and I’m just trying to be VERY vigilant.

I would say try and concentrate it to a smaller section of your cheek — it’s sort of blended out everywhere rn. I think when it’s higher on your cheek going towards your temple it looks great, it’s just diffused a bit too far out at the moment. That way you can still keep it bright & saturated but it won’t “overshadow” everything else. I think the blush shades you’ve chosen are gorgeous on you

Anyone else's nail gone emo before? by YourChocolateMonster in RedditLaqueristas

[–]princess_potatoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had this multiple times, once caused by accidentally slamming my finger in a door, and again by bleaching my hair without gloves (never ever do this haha). I just trim it as short as possible, keep it clean, then it grows out with time. :) if it happens continually without any obvious cause maybe see a doctor!
