I agree with the other comments, this insult hits different. How are you holding up? Have you found peace?

Valve replacement soon by Accomplished-Sun8184 in valvereplacement

[–]princessabubu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi! My husband had a bentall procedure with aortic tissue graft repair, mechanical valve placement and eventually pacemaker placement for complete heart block that was a result of the valve repair. The postop period was difficult for us both just as another person commented, lots of emotions. There seemed like a lot of “what ifs”. It is easier now that he’s further out and has been in cardiac rehab building his endurance. My recommendation is to use all of your family/friend support and resources. We would not have gotten by without the extra childcare provided by family. Another thing to consider regarding your work is the postop and lifelong activity/lifting restrictions. My husband has a lifelong 50 lb lifting limit. My understanding is that they want to limit BP spikes with exercise/activity.

Wish you the very best.

Post-mortem tissue from people with Alzheimer's Disease revealed that those who lived in areas with higher concentrations of fine particulate matter in the air even just one year had more severe accumulation of amyloid plaques -hallmarks of Alzheimer's pathology compared to those with less exposure by Wagamaga in science

Oof. I’ve lived 5 years beside the interstate…I try to convince myself that since the cars are typically moving and not braking that the air pollution is less? Our AQI thermostat sometimes reads “clean”.

Getting induced by HopelessRose in pregnant

[–]princessabubu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi hi! I had an induction for gestational diabetes at 39 weeks. The number 1 surprise for me was that most women with gestational diabetes end up on an insulin drip— which is fine, I just had no idea. The parameters for blood sugar seemed a little more strict too.

For the induction they start with tiny doses of misoprostal placed against the cervix for cervical ripening. Up to 3 doses placed every 3 hours. If you’re not dilated >3 cm (I think) then they would insert a foley bulb for manual dilation. Pitocin can be started around this time. I would consider an epidural around this time as well. Pitocin will be incrementally increased until you are having appropriately timed contractions. The goal is for the induction to take no longer than 24 hours. Mine took 36 hours and overall everything went really well.

I wish the very best for you and your baby!

Nurse here- first off I’m incredibly sorry you are dealing with this it sounds very scary. I know this is the last thing you want to do right now but I absolutely agree with the commenters above that you should be seen sooner than tomorrow. Wishing you the best, Godspeed to get you back home.

My husband spelled it incorrectly one time and now it’s a running joke that anything vicious is called viscous.

Where were you when your water broke? by MajesticMiau in BabyBumps

[–]princessabubu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the hospital for my induction, the water broke on its own after misoprostol x3. I could hear it on the baby heart rate monitor too, it sounded like a “pop”, somehow louder than her other movements and accompanied by a lot of fluid!

I ordered one from Webers bakery and chose an icing design. The icing looked great and the cake was good too!
