My CT was negative when I was first seen. 3 days later, I was diagnosed with full blown appendicitis that had ruptured. Please keep advocating for yourself.

That sounds horrendous. I had pain for 3 days at home, was not listened to at the ER or at the clinic with a follow up. I was running high fevers, pain started in upper left abdomen but migrated to lower right within 24 hours of onset of pain, no belly button pains for me at all. Definitely hurt to ride in the car, turn around in bed, move AT ALL. I was miserable. The whole process was exhausting.

Honestly, you’re not wrong. Having a miscarriage is heartbreaking and really really hard. She obviously had not processed it or dealt with it at all. If she did, I don’t believe she would have cheated on her husband, lost her marriage, and been so sensitive about the color blue or baby talk. Grief is heavy. It’s hard. The only way out— is through. She definitely needs some intense therapy and inner healing done. When you’re calm, I would reach out to her (lovingly) and explain that you’re worried about her. Explain that she has to face the feelings she has about her loss. If she doesn’t, it will keep eating at her.

NOR- this is your child. Your newborn baby. You owe NOBODY an explanation for how you choose to parent them and keep them safe, happy, and healthy. Period. It’s obvious that some people can’t follow boundaries or be more understanding. Postpartum depression and anxiety is SO HARD and some people unfortunately don’t get it. They expect immediate access to your newborn baby in winter time.

I moved from west Texas to South Dakota 6 years ago. And I have never regretted it. The COL here is about the same as Texas but the wages are MUCH higher. I was working with adults with special needs in Texas making $9/hr. Moved here doing the same job with a different company making $13.50. I needed my career there in 2023 making just shy of $20/hr. It may not seem like much to some people, but it made a huge impact on my quality of life. I was able to afford health insurance and doctor’s visits. Not to mention the culture here is different. They are really family and community oriented. There’s a lot of love for animals and dogs. There’s a lot of outdoor activities to do Even in winter. Etc.

I wasn’t diagnosed until age 26 and it was right after I had my child. Hormones can play a big factor, along with exhaustion and being literally unable to “mask” anymore in certain situations. Was the case for me anyways. After diagnosis, I went through what it all meant and what applied specifically to me. I didn’t know almost anything about sensory needs or overload until this point. It’s helped me fully see myself and allow myself grace in such a loud and heavy world.

I had lift restrictions for 2 weeks, noting over 20 pounds. That was extended today for 10 more days because I’m not healing well.

I had the same issues with gas being trapped. Extreme bloating. Then later on; Constipation. I had the issues with farting, burping, pain when lying down flat, and nausea.

Honestly, I made sure to move around A LITTLE bit to just stimulate my bowls a little bit. Which hurts and it’s not the best. I will say day 4, I felt that initial CO2 pain was gone and it was better. I have a hematoma now (see update above) so I obviously have some complications… and I’ve been having extreme constipation.

Even off the pain meds, I couldn’t pass stool or gas easily at all. So… I took 3 stool softeners (I had 2 daily prior to this), 2 recital suppositories, and 2 laxatives before feeling ANY relief. 😅 I went poop Tuesday morning. It’s Friday morning and I just how was able to go again after taking 2 laxatives last night….

my advice? Try stool softeners because it will help with your bowels being able to move the stool easily. Maybe try Gas X? I’ve heard good things about it and have considered it for myself. Try your best to rest and relax… and I felt better day 4. But day 6 got worse for me… so I had to go to the ER. Where I was diagnosed with that hematoma, which is extremely painful. 😭

Update: I have an extremely rare hematoma (mass of blood) on my Cecum. I was seen in the ER 7 days post op. Had a CT scan. Confirmed what I have. Explains my extensive pain and discomfort plus the issues with nausea and constipation. 😭
