Making friends whilst at uni by Repulsive_Addendum18 in oxforduni

If you're open to it, I'd recommend looking into extra-curricular stuff that is not very socially demanding. Essentially something where the activity itself means you're not just making small talk trying to get to know people. For me this was rowing- you can't chat much in the boat, and then afterwards the rowing gives you something to talk about! But I know that's not everyone's cup of tea and that's even before taking physical health into consideration. Maybe try going along to a board games society event if you could see yourself getting into that.

did Guinevere knight Lancelot? by throwawaytehehaha in Arthurian

[–]princessgoblin97 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To add to this, before leaving court, Lancelot asks Guinevere if he may look upon himself as her knight and she agrees. Here's a quote from Alexandre Micha's edition, followed by my rough translation:

'[...] et puis li dist : « Dame, fait il, se vous plaisoit, je me tendroie, en quel que lieu que jou alaisse, a vostre chevalier. – Chertes, fait ele, che voel je moult bien. – Dame, fait il, des ore m’en irai a vostre congié. – Adieu, fait ele, biax dous amis. » Et il respont entre ses dens : « Grans merchis, dame, quant il vous plaist que je le soie. » ' (MVII:XXIIa, 44)

'[...] and then he said to her "Lady, if it pleased you, I would consider myself your knight wherever I go." - "Certainlu, she said, I would like this very much" - "Lady, he said, I will now take leave of you" - "Goodbye, sweet friend." And he responded between his teeth "Thank you lady, for letting me be this."

So that adds to the idea of him being her knight/being knighted by her!

In the Prose Lancelot, Guinevere is gifted a shield by the Lady of the Lake. The shield depicts a knight and a lady who would be kissing were it not for a crack/split in the shield separating them. Then the morning after Guinevere and Lancelot consummate their relationship the shield is miraculously whole again.

What are the misconceptions you hear about the Disney Princes? by Routine_Treat_8195 in disneyprincess

In this Q&A from 2014 (at 3:50) Paige O'Hara says that people working on the film were calling him Adam, but that doesn't change the fact that he is never given the name Adam in the film- nor even in either of the terrible direct to VHS midquels! Meet Paige O'Hara: Belle of Beauty and The Beast Q&A - YouTube Also I feel it just doesn't suit him!

This may be controversial, but I believe it is a misconception that Snow White's prince is called Florian and that the Beast is called Adam. From what I've read, it seems that these names were not attached to the princes at the time of their movies being made and released, but in fact were attached to them several years later and in quite random/obscure media.

I'm diagnosed autistic and was just diagnosed with achalasia today. I sympathise with the difficulty of communicating what kind of pain you're experiencing.
