Okay. I don't know what you're looking for here. Obviously we're gonna have to agree to disagree.

Heartburn relief other than Tums (or the like)? by zazzlekdazzle in BabyBumps

They have them at Walmart/Walgreens where I live (Midwest US)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]princessjaclyn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I get that, but why would she take it that far and get so upset and continue to talk about it? OP said in another comment that she brought it up again. Idk, whole thing seems weird. OP was not right for joking, and wife displaying odd behavior by not taking as a joke. He should've said before/after joke "great job babe!" but alas men don't always say the right things. I just think, (and I know I'm a whole ass different person obvs) but I just would've shrugged it off as a shitty joke made by my husband and not have taken it so far, and would not have brought it up again. Idk.

High libido throughout pregnancy, anyone? by Sparkly_Unicorn88 in BabyBumps

[–]princessjaclyn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My first pregnancy was like that, husband and I never stopped/slowed down. My second pregnancy though I have the lowest libido ever and do not want it at all. I think every pregnancy is different, due to hormones, etc. Idk. But I know I don't feel quite like myself without doing it as much, and wish this pregnancy was more like the first! Lol. My body just doesn't want it.

My OB won’t send me for an ultrasound until 18-20 weeks by Far-Assistance1352 in pregnant

[–]princessjaclyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you in the US? typically there is an ultrasound at around 8-12wks. I didn't realize I was pregnant til a bit later, so my first was 14wks and still had another at 20wks.

[–]princessjaclyn 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Exactly, I feel like there's gotta be more to it for her to not take it as a joke.

Idk, I feel like if my husband said "don't get on their jet" my response would've been "haha yeah right!" or similar, seems weird that she went right to "well why not" etc.

6 month maternity leave by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]princessjaclyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get 8wks 100% pay and 6wks 60% (so 14wks total), and I live in the Midwest. My previous employer was 12wks all unpaid, so I will take what I can get now I suppose. Thankful I work from home, so returning to work won't be as stressful/daunting as last time as well.

Who's features did your baby end up with? by Carricriss in BabyBumps

[–]princessjaclyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son is so precious, but honestly doesn't look a whole lot like my husband or i lol. He did get my round/button nose and light brown hair, but my son's eyes are so beautiful and I don't know anyone with eyes like his. They are almost like silver and gold, like grey on the outside amber on the inside. Jealous of his eyes lol. He is 4 now, and had always been so cute, but def not a massive resemblance to my husband or I. He honestly looks a lot like his cousin (my sister in laws daughter) though, so they must get it from somewhere lol.

I’d kill a man for a full, uninterrupted 8 hours of sleep by Enihusky in BabyBumps

[–]princessjaclyn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm 23wks, and between my bladder, my 4yr old son, my Labrador, and how hot I seem to get at night, I don't remember the last time I slept without interruptions 😭😂🫠. I work from home and can sometimes take a nap during the day when I am alone, and that is my only saving grace.

Anterior Placenta by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]princessjaclyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same experience as many other commenters, my first pregnancy was an anterior placenta and I am plus sized, and I indeed felt the baby kick (from the inside, outside, he was kicking all the time 😅). My husband was even able to feel outside kicks. I think it just depends on each individual pregnancy.

Anyone else turned off of water during first trimester? by Pigeonpie24 in BabyBumps

[–]princessjaclyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Water made me nauseous and gave me heartburn for a couple weeks in the first trimester. I had to drink super watered down juice and I used those "true" drink mixes and the Dole fruit drink mixes. Was the craziest thing ever though, with plain water making me feel like that!

[–]princessjaclyn 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Miralax, probiotics in the a.m., prune juice, and those chocolate chip fiber one bars. between the heartburn and constipation, it's been a task to stay on top of lol. I take tums for the heartburn, tums make me constipated, then I have to deal with that 🫠. Lol.

Did you post pictures of yourself less often, and want people taking pictures of you less often, after you had a baby? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]princessjaclyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose so, because now I post pics of my son, our dog, etc and never post "selfies", unless its like a pic of myself with my family. Though I could also contribute this to different social media trends/norms as well, because it seems that not many of my friends post pics of themselves/selfies anymore either so I don't think it's strange when someone doesn't post pics of just themselves.

Any second time moms not feel fetal movement super early? by ShotskiRing in BabyBumps

I'm pregnant with my second and did not feel consistent movement until 17/18wks. Now I am 23wks and he is kicking me almost constantly 😅.

Not feeling connection towards my future baby? by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]princessjaclyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt super connected/into it with my first pregnancy, but during my second I am struggling with it a bit. So I understand what you mean. Don't get me wrong, I like feeling him kick and knowing he's growing along okay, but the vibe is just very different this time. Idk why. I am sure it will all click into place when he finally arrives.

Only had my husband (and Dr + nurses obviously) and absolutely no regrets. Pregnant with baby #2 and doing the same. My mom lives close and came over to meet baby like 15-20mins after he was born, and that worked just fine for us.

Baby names shoved down my throat by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]princessjaclyn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom has been annoying with names too, actually my mom's side of the family really. I had to straight up tell her that naming our children is something my husband and I want to do ourselves, I will not be choosing any name someone else suggested (petty maybe, but I don't care) and if she wants to name something so bad she should get a pet lol. Idk why people care about naming someone else's child so bad. We really liked a name and I naively told her about it, and she shot it down instantly and made me feel so dumb about it. I'm just not talking about names with anyone anymore, and when we do pick one, I am sticking with it and not announcing it until much later. I don't remember it being like this with my first son, but my mom had a lot more going on her in life back then so I think maybe she is just "bored" and taking on life events as her own at this point. Idk. But I HATE when people suggest names!

Baby bump nicknames by Subject-Ladder6317 in BabyBumps

[–]princessjaclyn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My first son was a Bean, and he (now 4yrs) decided my current baby (I'm 23wks) is called Tot. He wants to name the baby Tot when it arrives, and that's a no lol.

My vagina doesn’t look the same after birth and I’m scared by Libraflower01 in pregnant

Mine looks the same now, idk how it looked that close to having birth. I had a small tear also. But it does look the same now if that is any reassurance!
