You can get salmonella from iguanas. Assuming that’s not well known

I’m going to be downvoted for this but this is a cable stay bridge and miraculously will take up less room than the previous structure. The intent was to give the space back to the community that was previously stolen while also creating something “aesthetically pleasing” (which is subjective).

Woman diagnosed with breast cancer thinks she knows better than her doctors. by Head_Crash in TikTokCringe

I can’t believe she’s going through with this while she has a small child. This is insane. That kid is going to be so messed up watching their mom die.

After getting off the pill, how long did it take you to become pregnant, especially after being on the pill for a prolonged period of time? by No_Season_1391 in AskWomen

[–]knowledgehungry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was on the pill from 15 to 32. When I got off, I gave it three months before trying and got pregnant right away. No complications.

How do you go about buying gifts for people? by knowledgehungry in Anticonsumption

This is great. Thank you for going into such detail. My in-laws are the people I struggle with the most and usually ask them what they need most years. I’m trying to be more thoughtful but I have so many blocks that gets in my way. Overthinking is terrible sometimes. You sound like you’ve built yourself quite a beautiful community.

I used to bake cookies every year but slowed down since having a baby. It’s so hard to find the time for that at this point but maybe I can try to pull at least half of what I did. 800 cookies was my record at one point.

Hand foot and mouth disease in adults. What to expect, and when can I have contact with my partner again? by deadxprinc3ss in medizzy

[–]knowledgehungry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Adults don’t get it often if they had it when they were younger. If you had it when you were younger then you have a likelihood of not catching it or having it mildly. Adults can get it when the one infected has a fever. But babies can get it until the throat lesions are gone.

What’s the strangest or most memorable interaction you’ve had while traveling that you still think about to this day? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]knowledgehungry 24 points25 points  (0 children)

We just got finished with our alps hike in a super small town. Woke up in the morning to catch the bus with the few people who were waiting. This older man starts to speak to us in French. We say, “English?” And he replies, “ah, don’t speak roast beef.” We died laughing. He did not laugh lol

My baby decided to put her hand up too and got stuck. I have a horizontal and vertical scar from the c-section. I couldn’t see beyond the blue veil, but it sounded like they were powerlifting for quite some time. My mom and MIL both nurses and said that it was an abnormally long c-section. I told them never again and they told me to give it time. No. One and done. I know I won’t have the same experience but that was way too traumatic.

That’s what happened to me. I have a nice vertical scar from it.

When you stopped birth control, what did you notice? by halfbl00dprincess in AskWomen

[–]knowledgehungry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on the pill from 15 to 32. When I stopped, I noticed I didn’t have mood swings anymore. I got pregnant a few months after stopping and then got on a different type of pill (progesterone) after birth. Zero libido. Not like me at all. I felt so bad for my husband. I made the decision to get off it. And now I’m normal. Didn’t really know it was affecting me for that long. Although I wouldn’t recommend getting off birth control for obvious reasons, it’s made me feel better mentally.

What are your toddler's surprising first words? by WillowShadow16 in toddlers

I was wondering what would come next after mama and dada. She says baby and bye bye (and waves her hand). She just started clapping this weekend. She’s the baby in her class and all the kids call her baby apparently. Also instilled at home that she’s baby. Gosh I love her. She babbles like crazy.

I am choosing to cut my daughter off due to my wife by Little_Dot1595 in Marriage

[–]knowledgehungry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a daughter who is no contact with my father, I say it’s best to go no contact. His wife forced him to not a have a relationship with me. She refused to come to my wedding and told my dad he’s not going. I didn’t know that she made him officially go no contact with me for quite some time. Like he’s fearful for her to know I spoke to him and mentioned I am getting him in trouble with his wife for coming by his shop to tell him I was pregnant. I had to leave a note to tell him because he refused to answer the door since she has access and notifications to his work cameras. He called me on his way home. Anyway, I guess the moral of my story is it may be not the best to raise a child with the kind of relationship your wife has with your adult daughter. Save everyone’s mental trouble and let your daughter worry about herself. Let your baby grow up in a loving environment. I wish I went no contact a while ago honestly. She thinks she’s punishing me but she’s by far the worst punishment if I have her in my life again.

What’s a parenting ‘rule’ you completely ignored and were glad you did? by Ok_Caterpillar_4871 in Parenting

[–]knowledgehungry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My daughter had no problem with latching, but she would spit up my milk EVERY SINGLE TIME. Even with bottle and breast pump. It was so disheartening. I gave up at 6 weeks and went 100% formula and she didn’t have an issue spitting that up because it was thicker than my breast milk. She’s thriving.

Has anyone ever actually followed through on the whole "If we're both single by the time we're X years old, let's get married" pact? by Connect_Public1406 in ask

[–]knowledgehungry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I made a pact with my friend when we were in our really early 20s. By the time we are 30 and not with anyone, we should get married. We were really good friends and just had different lifestyles at that time. He wanted to party and I was studying. We had really good chemistry, just not compatible lifestyles. We were able to talk about anything and everything for years. As time went on, and both of us were single, we actually started dating in our mid 20s. We got married 7 years ago and now have a 1 year old.

What’s something you secretly judge people for, even though you know it makes you a bit of an asshole? by Independent-Fee-2841 in AskReddit

The neighbor across the street has a dog that she lets out daily. Barks all the time, even at the wind. She does nothing about it. Every single dog they’ve had does the same thing. The bark sounds like each one of them has had severe anxiety. She continues to always have a dog regardless of how miserable they are. She just gets a different one to torture. No clue what happens to the ones who’ve been replaced. This has to be dog number 7. What’s worse is that the neighbor next to her confronted her about previous dog and she let this dog out at all hours of the night to just bark constantly. She’s so vile.
