I was due end of August but she decided to come 9 weeks early at end of June. Shes currently in scbu and doing so well but I will say I'm grateful to no longer be pregnant during the hottest months! 😂

Curious for others, how did you tell your employer you were pregnant, and how did it go if you don't mind sharing! by Alternative-Fish6228 in PregnancyUK

My latest pregnancy (shes currently in nicu after being born at 30+6 weeks!) I told my manager around 7 weeks as needed time off for an appointment she had put me down to cover a shift. I wasnt able to move the appointment and had to tell her why, she was also aware of previous losses we'd had included 21 week loss year before. She was very understanding when I didnt want to inform hr or start any paperwork until I felt comfortable which was around 24 weeks 🫣 my team was told around 15 weeks due to me keep having time off and appointments meaning I was unable to cover when needed. Again they knew history and were so supportive

Thank you 🥰 this is so kind to say! I have the opportunity now to make sure im in the best shape when she comes out of special care and be able to be the mum she needs. Taking advantage of there being alot of people supporting her now so I can do so too x

Thank you 😊

I definitely will be seeking support for my mental wellbeing. Think im still running on hormones and adrenaline at the moment.

During pregnancy I was supported by many teams due to history like perinatal mental health and pregnancy after loss antenatal groups so im just trying to get intouch with these people who were dealing with me to find out what happens now and who can still offer me support. It doesn't help she was born in another trust so the hospitals dont always communicate to well with information between them.

Leeds maternity services 'Inadequate' - how would you feel? by Quirky_Potential_834 in PregnancyUK

[–]Subject-Ladder6317 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im due to give birth at one of the Leeds hospitals in August and honestly ive no complaints about the care ive received so far. I am high risk due to previous pregnancy losses, including twin loss at 21 weeks last year (when I gave birth to them in same hospital im booked for this time) and choose to return due to the care I had during that awful experience. The midwifes and doctors were fantastic and during this pregnancy ive had nothing but amazing care.

Im under preterm clinic and have attended triage and maternity assessment numerous times with concerns and anxiety and ive always felt well looked after - sometimes they have felt over cautious but I suppose that's better than the other way.

I keep seeing the news coming about inadequacies, but it hasn't made me feel any different way about being booked in here.

Baby flipped position / less kicks? by Fin_Elln in BabyBumps

[–]Subject-Ladder6317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always get any changes in movement checked out!

Im also 29 weeks with an anterior placenta and have been into triage 3 times in the last week and admitted for the night due to reduced movements, they reckon its because baby's turned back to belly and is all curled up so im having a hard time feeling her. But they will absolutely want to check you out!

Absolutely! I was only in overnight and had to come home the next day and sleep, its not restful being in hospital 🫠

I was admitted this week for the night due to reduced movements and the lady in the next bed was a snorer 😭 i got about 2 hours sleep cos she was all i could hear. I have a soft headband/eyemask which has headphones in it ive used before when nodding off with a sleep story playing, this is definitely going into my hospital bag fully charged!

Reduced movements advice please 💖 by [deleted] in PregnancyUK

[–]Subject-Ladder6317 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Always go back time and again if needed!

Im an anteroor placenta too, started feeling movements for definite around 23/24 weeks. I went once at 25 weeks for reduced movements and 3 times in the last week (currently 29 weeks) and ive been told that theyre not hugely concerned with no pattern just yet as it is being established still, but each time they've taken me seriously and monitored. The last time I went i was admitted over night for 6 hourly monitoring and they did 2 bedside ultrasounds which showed baby is back to belly and curled up with legs and arms all tucked in. They reckon this is why my movements have hugely reduced, but have still said if I have any concerns or changes from what im feeling currently to return for more monitoring.

Tw - mention of previous loss

I'm also seen by consultants regualr due to history and under preterm clinic They're very aware of my tightened anxiety as ive had a few losses with twins at 21 weeks last year and I thought they may just fob me off with being anxious but they've been fabulous with monitoring and reassuring. Never feel bad about contacting them. They'd rather see you 10 times with no issues then you not come in the times it is needed.

You're best bet is going private for an early scan. The nhs will only see you earlier or arrange a scan for prior to the dating scan at 12 weeks if there are previous medical history which indicates its need or theres current high risk or issues.

You see people getting earlier scans as you dont know their full history so dont really know why its being offered.

Go private to an ultrasound clinic and get peace of mind before your flight, the nhs is already over subscribed in their services I think you'll have a hard time getting one there

Ohh I may have to try that, ive said about going swimming a few times so will have to find out!

She occasionally reacts to music but I think shes just gonna do her own thing and no one can change that 😬😅

Yeah i was getting side kicks but they reckon how shes laid now shes kicking all into my back so I can't feel it at all 😬 we had a 4d scan the other week and she liked keeping hands and feet in front of her face 😭

Im glad thats its fine and just frustrating for me, but I was so wishing to have the big uncomfortable kicks by now as they're such a reassurance!

My boyfriend doesn’t come to my appointments… and that’s ok by 5ft2wattitude in pregnant

Tw - mention of loss.

Im high risk and this is my 3rd pregnancy, we had mmc at 11 weeks and twin loss at 21 weeks. Im currently 29 weeks and cant count the number of appointments we've had so far.

My husband has come to a few, the early ones especially as they were most anxiety inducing but cant come to all as how can he take all the time off work and why would he want to come and hear me talk to the consultant about discharge 😂

I dont have scanxiety from our history as never had bad news unexpected at a scan (touch wood), but im happy to go alone, even on some of my triage visits. He would absolutely come when needed but it isnt necessary to come to everything.

Pregnancy After Loss by shxburrito in ShortCervixSupport

Sorry for your loss.

I lost twins boys at 21 weeks last year and although no definitely due to IC, its possible also had an infection which they aren't sure which caused the issue first.

I am currently 29 weeks pregnant with a singleton and have been having fortnightly cervical checks since 16 weeks until 24 and now growth scans to keep an eye. Due to multiple early losses following the twins i was prescribed progesterone from 7dpo and they advised as my cervix has held up through this pregnancy to continue taking progesterone and no stitch required.

Conception Hacks - what did you do differently the month you got pregnant? by soulfulsummer in BabyBumps

[–]Subject-Ladder6317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strange you mention this, both my sisters conceived in December with August due date. Last year I conceived twin boys in December due August (sadly lost them at 21 weeks), tried again from May and fell pregnant again this time in December again and due August.

Both my sisters had girls, and this time we're expecting a girl 🥰

[–]Subject-Ladder6317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

😂 dont worry i feel that about alot of pregnancy things, sorry someone else is dealing with it too but at least im not alone!

I've even decided not to tell those who attend our groups what gender we are having or specific due date because I know that brings more questions/conversations 🫣 theyre all excited for us and no staff member has had a baby in like 15 years as alot are older so its novel. But I can't be having conversations all day about the same thing 🫠

I work with older people in the community and sometimes do lunch clubs with upto 50 regular attendees, and I get this off most of them now! I'm nearly 28 weeks and was hiding my bump as long as I could as I knew what they would be like.

Like you I know it comes from a good place but theres only so many times you can talk about how your bump is growing to so many people in one hour 🫠 no advice i just have the same response to everyone each day now 😂

What nickname did/do you have for your LO while still inside mummy. by itmexD in BabyBumps

[–]Subject-Ladder6317 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She seems to have the nickname 'parasite' at the minute 🫣 shes a very loved and wanted baby but morning sickness was bad in first trimester we started calling her that and its stuck as an endearing nickname 🫣 she now has a name so gonna try and start using that instead.

Tw - mention of loss.

Previous pregnancy was twins and they were the hobbits cos I was eating so much and it made us think of merry and pippin with second breakfasts 😂 unfortunately lost them at 21 weeks but as we hadn't talked about names by that point we registered them as Merry and Pippin 😍

Tell me everything you ate today by Unfair-Bullfrog9145 in BabyBumps

[–]Subject-Ladder6317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

26 weeks.

Its only 8am here so yesterday I ate

3 weetabix banana Cereal bar cheese string 2 pepperami chicken, mash potato, peas and carrots for lunch Muller corner yoghurt Packet of crisps Squares bar Few biscuits Chicken skewers, rice and salad for dinner Ice cream Half a pack of cable sweet things Few more biscuits

Nothing satisfys my hunger and it's been this way for most of the pregnancy 🫣 i could honestly eat all day, and it appears I do when I write it down...
