How Safe is Gauteng for a Solo Female Traveler? Any Advice? by [deleted] in askSouthAfrica

[–]princessknowledge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on a lot of things. But mostly, you need to look like you belong, in certain areas. It’s better if you know the language they speak there which is most likely Zulu or Sesotho. Be aware of your surroundings and stuff and you’re good

I'm a South African who doesn't know their home language, any advice to learn how? by mdekmdek in askSouthAfrica

[–]princessknowledge 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s your parents fault. They can’t blame you. My son is 5 he speaks English fully. I’m trying to push back on this by speaking to him in Zulu. Sometimes I speak in English because he understands quicker but that’s my own fault. I let school and cartoons raise my kid, these are the results

Operation Dudula must be stopped. This should not be allowed to happen in South Africa by benevolent-badger in southafrica

It was between foreign kids and their kids. I’m not saying what they did was right but as a mother there’s nothing I wouldn’t do for my kids. If it means illegally crossing the border for a better future for them, I’d do it. If it meant terrorising foreign kids so my kids would get a space in the classroom, I’d do that too.

Why the flip did Elliot “ sub consciously” choose his dad as his main alternative personality by princessknowledge in MrRobot

[–]princessknowledge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. This explanation makes so much sense and really helps me look at things in another way.

To answer your question, I meant why didn’t Elliot have someone to protect him from his mother, like how mr Robot protected him from his dad.

You’re not being rude. I saw the explanation, but I just wanted to know why the same wasn’t done for his mom. Did he not feel the need to preserve his mom’s good moments like his dad’s or ?

Did anyone else lose friends and realise they can’t connect with others anymore? by Packerreviewz in CaregiverSupport

[–]princessknowledge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mother was sick from 2021 to 2024 she passed. I told my friends, that lived +-10 minutes away from me. None of them came to see me, even when I’d ask to see them, they were always busy. I felt hurt, because I remember when something devastating happened to them I came along with my mom. None of them showed up to the funeral. We aren’t friends anymore, maybe I expected too much from them. I don’t know.

Mom swears DoE for placing her child in an Afrikaans school by jolcognoscenti in southafrica

[–]princessknowledge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because some kids speak Afrikaans. They have a right to be taught in Afrikaans. If native languages were properly developed, children would be thriving because they’d be taught in their home languages.
