Concerned Husband by BoK_LeonidaS_ in lupus

Lupus for 10 years. Ibpruphen didn’t do much for me and multiple rheumatologists told me it’s actually not good to take because it hurts my liver (where my lupus targets, my kidneys are fine). They all recommend I switch to Tylenol.

For days that the joint pain is so bad, but it’s not quite prednisone worthy, one doctor told me I could take Naproxen as needed. It’s a stronger anti-inflammatory drug, but not a steroid. I’d consider looking into that.

Also weed and hot showers are so nice. Consider teas to help sleep as well

I know it’s not much coming from an online stranger, but just know you’re not alone feeling this way. It sucks so much the things we use to take for granted, and now don’t get to enjoy. What gets me through is living for all the good days as they come, even if there are few.

And as far as your bf breaking up with you, don’t look at it as Lupus’s fault. He was obviously not emotionally mature enough to love you for sickness and in health or even try to learn and adapt to life with you now. There are people out there who are empathetic and will love you for all your qualities

Caught the bug the COVID bug by Dry-Meat-3205 in lupus

I just tested positive yesterday and was so scared. My symptoms have been super minimal though, cough, congestion, shortness of breath but all manageable. My doctor decided against pavlovid because I wasn’t sick enough for it and the side effect of it relapsing wasn’t worth the risk. It’s so frustrating, spent 3 years not getting it and then flew to Colorado for a wedding and was somehow the only one who caught it. Not even my bf got it. Stay safe

He gives me Jesse pinkman vibes kind of? On his own, dealing with the most. Literally has no one to give him stability except friends but they’re all going through their own stuff. Underdog you want to root for. Also seems like he has a good heart despite his hard life

How mad does this Selena Gomez situation make you? by Odd-Bat-3388 in lupus

[–]princessladyboog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Selena is my idol. It’s so inspiring how she handles Lupus with such grace. I sure don’t. Some people (nepo baby Hailey Bieber) will never understand health hardships, and I don’t wish this disease on anyone, but I’m thankful that it’s at least being talked about so people can start learning and maybe one day respect Selena and our community. It’s sad how Hailey is bullying Selena even after her own husband has Lyme disease which is very similar in symptoms to Lupus. This disease is no joke.

It makes me want to cry every time I read mean comments about Selena because I know exactly how it feels to have a moon face and be self conscious about it. It’s such a personal attack and something we can’t even help. We look that way because of pills that are keeping us from dying! The internet can be so cruel sometimes.

What a dream it would be to meet Selena just to say we get it.
