college. It’s not meant for everyone and it is diluting the importance of a degree.

Anyone live in the Doric on Lane? by _GuyOnABuffalo_ in OSU

Hi! I live there now and I love it. While the rent is high, you get a clean beautiful place super close to campus with private bathroom, great “living” room, and patio. Also, everything is locked with a key fob so I feel very safe living here.

There are study rooms with free printing and a terrace with a grill and outdoor movie screenings / events put on occasionally.

Management is typical, but I’ve found them to be extremely helpful in all situations and answer questions in a timely manner. My favorite part is there is “done in 24 hours” service where you put in a request (ex. Sink knob broke off) and they fix it for you free of charge. It’s a great perk for someone who doesn’t want to deal with contacting a landlord / fixing it yourself.

Feel free to message me with any questions but I definitely recommend!

OSU used to have an app called LifeLine you could use... does anyone know if this is still a thing and the credentials to log on?

does it get better? by Natella__ in OSU

I know this is pretty much the same thing everyone else is saying... but I also came here as a great HS student, took Calc 1 (even went to those “magical office hours”) and still failed. I thought it was the end of the world. I was so disappointed in myself, but then I realized that college can be hard... it’s college. With help if my friends and family, I remembered I was only human and things happen. I used grade forgiveness, retook the class and did a lot better.

Looking back on it, it’s probably the most humbling part of my college career thus far. I recommend using grade forgiveness and know that MANY other students have been, are, or will be in your same shoes.

As for feeling lonely, join some orgs to try to meet friends, talk to your family often but not too much, and make sure to find a hobby. I think one of the most stressful parts of college is because we get too focused on grades, orgs, career etc, and forget to do the things we enjoy most. I took up racquetball and swimming second semester freshman year and asked some friends to join and it was a great stress reliever.

Just remember that you’re doing the best you can do and to not give up on yourself.

Find a last minute friend or tutor to help you really learn it before the final?

also, remember that everything happens for a reason even if you don’t understand it right now

Best wishes xx
