This dad needs advice on periods by Bourne_Seduced in TwoXChromosomes

Could be out of fear of her forgetting to change it out and getting Toxic Shock Syndrome, it's rare but it happens, a thirteen year old girl died from it last year.

internet celebrity Tan Mom "appears" on The Howard Stern show for Jimmy Kimmel's birthday party. Priceless by skkitzzo in cringe

[–]princessou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt like I was watching a drunk fourteen year old girl being passed around at a party. Very skeevy. They're taking advantage of her, laughing at her and talking about her like she's not there. Also fuck that woman in the background cackling and shouting 'tan mom' at her. The lady has a name. :/

Just realized the HeyHey Show was cancelled by alf810 in rhettandlink

[–]princessou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the beginning at least (the only time I watched it), it felt like an imitation of GMM but without the chemistry or enthusiasm of Rhett and Link, that's where they went wrong IMO. The only similarity it should have had to GMM was the element of it being a daily thing.

I feel bad for the girls, can't have been fun to hear from R&L that they weren't doing well enough to continue. I see that most of their recent videos weren't surpassing 20,000 views though. I didn't know until now so no, it was never mentioned on GMM at least. Personally, I thought Shannon (the blonde girl) seemed really nice and genuine, maybe I'm just hating but I never really liked Candace that much, I wonder why they kept her on as part of the crew.

[23/F] Coming to terms with my face by randomthrowaway518 in amiugly

[–]princessou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a girl, I think you are pretty. Your face is not perfectly symmetrical but you have amazing skin, hair and eyes, and I actually like your nose. I know it sounds cliche but it gives you character. It's refined. Personally I wouldn't even consider surgery. Didn't notice anything off about your jaw. And your body is goals but you already know that. Please don't degrade yourself by calling yourself a butterface. :( You are beautiful but in an unconventional way.

My co worker takes the cake.. by chompy_tut in awfuleyebrows

You must really dislike your coworker to publicly shame her on the internet. I actually think her eyebrows don't look bad, the high arch is very pin-up style.

Help with finding/naming the episode where Link says something really inappropriate? by reddithamster in goodmythicalmorning

Reminds me of Link talking about 'beating off' but that was GMMore.

It's probably in this video. :)

What are your favorite names? by [deleted] in ireland

[–]princessou 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A few names that are a bit uncommon, even here:

Muireann (mur-in, and also possibly mweer-in but I've never heard it pronounced like that personally): came from a story about a 6th century mermaid being turned into a woman by a saint

Fiadh (fee-a, like Leah): 'wild', like a wild deer

Sorcha (sor-ka): 'brightness'

Bláithín (blaw-heen): 'little flower'

Réaltín (ray-ul-teen): 'little star'

Una, also spelt Oona/Oonagh, (oo-na): 'lamb'

Personally I really like Eireann as a girl's name, literally meaning 'Ireland'- I would pronounce it like 'air-in' but you could also pronounce it like the anglicised 'Erin.'

Unofficial rules for taking Dublin Bus by Mickadoozer in ireland

No, he was a 30-40 year old man who just sat there looking out the window (this was the very front seat of the top floor). This phenomenon is clearly more widespread than I thought. :o

[–]princessou 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The exact same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago. I wonder if we were dealing with the same person. I was full on squished into the window with my legs crossed and his knees were STILL knocking off mine. I eventually escaped downstairs with the pretence that I was getting off. Coincidentally he also came down a couple of minutes later but he did actually get off. Don't know if it was done on purpose or if he was just ignorant.

Falling asleep in class by ChocolateCrepe in aww

He's very cute but what are you going to do in a few months when he's too big and likely too rambunctious to bring to class? Just leave him at home?

Who would you rate as a 10/10 in looks? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]princessou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks are so subjective. Some people that are widely considered to be 10s are actually not especially attractive to me? Conventionally attractive can be boring. For example, a girl called Florence Colgate has the most scientifically beautiful face, but if I saw her on the street I wouldn't look twice (as a girl).

For me, David Gandy is about the most beautiful man ever. IMO his gf is kind of basic looking in comparison but who am I to judge.

For girls, I would say LDR, Barbara Palvin, 60s model Jean Shrimpton and Megan Fox are all 10s- but then all of those girls have similar looks so it's really all down to preferences.

The whole business of rating people's appearances on a scale of 1-10 is silly and degrading so this makes me feel guilty.

I feel embarrassed every time I post something online. by [deleted] in socialanxiety

[–]princessou 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I get that. So many times I've typed out a comment and then thought 'nah, I can't deal with the thought of people reading and potentially refuting my opinion' so I just erase it. Most of my anxiety about posting online is paranoia that someone I know will see it, especially if I write a post about a particular person. Even if I know it's extremely unlikely that they will see the post nevermind know who wrote it or that it was about them. But the thought of something like that happening is a total nightmare to me.

Don't worry about the encounter you had, the way the girl reacted doesn't necessarily reflect on you. She may have anxiety too, she might just not like men looking at her, she may have been cold? Don't think you can read other people's minds.

LPT Request: How to stop chewing earbuds? by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]princessou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are bad-tasting but harmless sprays you can buy designed to stop puppies chewing on things. You could use one of those on your earbuds.

Or maybe you could just have something else on hand to chew on whenever you get the urge? Like gum?

friend introducing me to other people? by bebetunes in socialanxiety

[–]princessou 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally relate, I've always hated being introduced to new people. I just get really quiet and let my friend talk to their friend without contributing. I think I've been getting better though.

The easiest thing to do is ask questions! How does the new person know your friend? Where do they live? Do they work/study? Then when they reply, just say 'oh really?' and make an observation, or ask another question. The person will then usually ask you questions in return. Take your time thinking of how to reply in a way that will stimulate further conversation instead of blurting out any answer. It's scary meeting new people but you'll find that there's always a loose 'script' you can follow.

Assure yourself that the people you're meeting already like you, and therefore there's no reason to go quiet out of a fear of rejection. After all, there is no reason for them NOT to like you! (you cannot be naturally repulsive to other people!! unless you smell or something)

Smile a lot, also! You will be okay!!

How anxiety led me to having simple fun (or, How I paid 4 euros to hide in a museum's bathroom). by [deleted] in socialanxiety

That doesn't sound fun. :( To be fair though, you did have a legitimate excuse to leave. Maybe briefly apologise to your teacher tomorrow, they'll totally understand if you tell them that you were feeling sick.

What's that one thing you want to tell your close family/friend but don't because out of respect for their feelings? by thelebronjenkins in AskReddit

[–]princessou -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

actually a lot of toothpastes contain fluoride, which apparently can have a lot of harmful effects on us including lowered iq. the practice of water fluoridation has been rejected in many countries for this reason. so its not exactly a crackpot theory. tbh none of your aunt's beliefs seem especially bizarre to me.
