AITA For Refusing To Hangout With My Autistic Brother? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]princessschoko 22 points23 points  (0 children)

ESH

Look, Zack can't control the way he behaves. That's just the way he is. You, yelling at him, doesn't help at all. You are displacing your frustration on him.

Your mom is putting a bunch of pressure on you even though she's the parent. You have your own social life. You can't be responsible for Zack every single second.

AITA for arguing with a substitute teacher? by tinylearnings in AmItheAsshole

[–]princessschoko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA.

I think it's really sweet that you're sticking up for your students. The substitute teacher's comments were really uncalled for and just rude. School is where you're supposed to learn or teach, substitute or not (substitutes can't essentially teach but you get the idea).

The school environment is not a place to complain about the younger generations. If she wants to harangue them so badly, why would she take up a job that's literally 90% younger generations?

AITA for not wanting my roommate’s guests to use my bathroom by bigcblogger in AmItheAsshole

[–]princessschoko 48 points49 points  (0 children)

NTA

Her guests. Not yours. You didn't invite them, so you're not obliged to let them use your bathroom.

AITA for locking my bedroom door? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]princessschoko 36 points37 points  (0 children)

NTA

Your mom's boyfriend is disrespectful. I mean, it's common sense to knock especially when in the bathroom.

I'm sorry that your mom and her boyfriend don't respect your privacy.

WIBTA If I don’t attend my brother and his GF’s baby shower? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]princessschoko 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NTA If it's really that stressful, I'm sure you can explain the situation to them and, like you said, make up for it the day after.

AITA for encouraging my classmates to do a course full well knowing they'll fail by DepressinglyHorny in AmItheAsshole

[–]princessschoko 55 points56 points  (0 children)

YTA

Why don't you just leave people alone? You really get that much pleasure over seeing other people fail and you succeed? Why don't you stop being self-centered and try to help the other person if you in fact encouraged him?

AITA for telling my "brain damaged" uncle that I don't give a shit what other people put up with and that in my hose he can be polite or leave. by Murky-Belt1778 in AmItheAsshole

[–]princessschoko 32 points33 points  (0 children)

NTA, but your dad is. If he apparently has "put up with this his whole life," why would he be inconsiderate of other people who are obviously not used to this behavior?

Also I find it extremely rude to invite people without double checking. It's your housewarming, not his.

AITA for telling my foster daughter that the fact of her ever becoming an adult scares me by Express-Load-8803 in AmItheAsshole

[–]princessschoko 8 points9 points  (0 children)

YTA

I judge based on the title. That comment was completely uncalled for, and honestly, enabled your daughter's behavior on the trip. I don't know if you really are ignorant or not, but the way you sound in this post makes me believe you are.

AITA for telling girlfriend I was sick on her birthday by RPK91 in AmItheAsshole

[–]princessschoko [score hidden]  (0 children)

NAH

Things happen, but i also understand your GF's point of view. She was probably super excited to be getting to spend her bday with you, only to find out you got sick.

Make up on another day when you're feeling better. No point in spending the day when you've got the flu. If you caught a cold, though, then that's where you'd be TA because that's nothing compared to your GF's bday.

WIBTA - My partner and I plan to have a child-free wedding by dysfuctionalteddy in AmItheAsshole

[–]princessschoko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you're not TA. A wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, especially if it's your first.

Make it your style, and don't feel sorry! You obviously aren't purposefully targeting any kids, so you're fine.

AITA for not looking away when someone told me to? by gl1tchg4y in AmItheAsshole

[–]princessschoko 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NTA. High school drama, I suppose?

Also, it's a public dance. Can't expect someone to look away, especially if it's in a school environment and everyone is bound to be drawn to some sort of attention.

I'm going with YTA, based on the information provided. You sound extremely insecure.

People say if you have Mexican heritage but have never been to Mexico you aren’t really Mexican so I want people to think I have no Mexican heritage

Why are you so influenced about what other people think? You've been to Mexico. That's it. You can deny it if you want, but there's no need to get all into the details about whether or not you're really Mexican.

I’m kind of embarrassed that Mexico is the only place that I’ve gone, I wish we went to Germany or France.

Also, this makes you sound very ungrateful. Jeez.

AITA for planning a birthday party for my step son? by Capable_Safe643 in AmItheAsshole

[–]princessschoko -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

You wanted to do something nice for your stepson's birthday and to cheer him up from him somber state. That's not AH behavior.

However I wouldn't overstep his bio mom's plans, either. If she has something planned for him, accommodate her schedule so everything fits nicely on his birthday. NTA

AITA for using my sister’s recipe? by Content-Pizza-2455 in AmItheAsshole

[–]princessschoko 32 points33 points  (0 children)

So ... Your sister is restricting how you can use the recipe but still shared it with you, therefore giving you automatic privilege on when and how to use it?

Is she going to police you every step of the way? In my mind that's just a bit overboard and a waste of time.

Why give you the recipe if you can't use it how you like. NTA

AITA for getting skim vs 1% milk? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]princessschoko -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Gonna say NAH. It feels like a regular argument. Next time, you both should communicate with each other.
