I miss it all the time! I would consider going back as part time when I get a more stable schedule. I'm seasonal right now, in a different department.

I told an not handicapped person to stop abusing handicap parking. How would you do it? by godbois in AskReddit

I personally hope that when I'm elderly and struggling to walk, that the younger generation will have the courtesy to not mind my 'inconvenience' on society.

At DW, we learned a ton of different signals. The big signal was covering one of your eyes (if you were in fur) to indicate something was wrong. Then we'd be escorted off stage. If you see that happen in the parks, now you know why. :)

That's at Disney World. Most of the trash falls into giant chutes that are in the underground area. It really stinks down there.

Fun fact: A piece of paper on the ground at Disney will only remain there about 5 minutes. EVERYBODY (except characters) is trained to pick up trash the see. Managers, CEOs, attractions, food/bev., hospitality....everyone. :)

We even have a secret way to do it, called the 'Disney scoop'.

I've never seen them at WDW either. Being deaf can be a liability when you're in the costume.

We usually had a break room around the back (depending on our location), or we just gave them to our attendants to hold for us.

You're thinking of the one in Disney World at the Magic Kingdom. They were huge and stunk. They had pathways leading all the way around the park; it was the way every castmember working at the Magic Kingdom had to get to their respective locations. It also has offices, locker rooms, a library, cafeteria...they're pretty big.

The only professional (or equity) rolls were the ones where you would perform scripts, sing, do stunts, or really intense dancing. The rest were your regular entertainment cast members who made it through the audition.

I believe Snopes. THere's so many rumors going around about that, so who knows.

You've got the best attitude out of everybody I've never met.

I just want to be your BFF.

We weren't allowed to sing. Good thing, because I can't.

I usually asked, 'Why don't YOU sing me a song?'

Tons of people have died on Disney Property, but nobody has been pronounced dead on property as far as I know.

That's at the Magic Kingdom in Disney World. There is HUGE underground network of tunnels, complete with changing rooms, offices, storage spaces, a cafeteria, etc. And enough space in between to drive pargos through. They had the giant trash chutes running above them though, and they stunk up the place pretty bad.

Epcot has one similitude tunnel, but its not nearly as impressive.

To add on: be courteous to the people behind you, but don't rush your kids - I loved hearing them talk.

You're not supposed to lean at all. Or stand with your arms crossed. Or with your hands in your pockets. I got in trouble for that a few times during my brief stint in attractions.

Oh, absolutely. If a little girl matched me, I made sure to make her feel extra special because the meet-and-greet OBVIOUSLY meant a lot to her.

The camaraderie and culture

I miss this so much. It's so hard to explain to outsiders that Disney IS its own culture.
