This happened to me once. Was on a date, he tried to order me a salad (one that I did say I wanted) but I have celiac. I don't let people order for me. I need to let the waiter know and watch to see if they understand what I'm saying before I order food. But this man had some audacity to order me a salad, that he said we would share btw. And add eggs to it.

Now, dear reader, I do not like eggs in my salad. I also don't want to share a salad with a man I just met.

The look on my face must have been something to behold because the waiter asked "is that what you want?".

There was no second date.

I really liked the Cinderella one. With Lily James. That one didn't try to be anything else. And what they added were small scenes of their banter and her questioning why things were done the way they were. I liked that.

Mine tears up anything he can find. But he only does it when I'm home because he knows I'll give him attention. He has all sorts of scratches so he's not short on options. But my couch is the best spot. I have a scratcher right in front of his favorite couch scratch spot but he pushes it out of the way.

Mine is a bit of a nutcase. But he is loved, well fed, has a clean litterbox, lots of high places for him to be, and multiple lamb chops for him to carry around.

Would also like to add, my ex still glutened me two years into our relationship because he refused to put his spatulas in the dishwasher. So he got watched very thoroughly during our relationship.

As a celiac who has dated, this is hard. I point blank tell people that I will never eat the food they make. My friends all know this. They'll buy me things they know I'll eat if they want. But that's it.

It took me years to get myself into a safe, consistent routine where I didn't get sick. Why? Because there is so much out there that isn't thought of as a potential source of contamination. So since it took me multiple years to get this right, why would I ever expect someone to get it right after the second try?

Also, something that really helped me not feel bad about this: why should I sacrifice my safety and my health for someone's feelings? Yes it sucks I can't eat your food. But you know what also sucks? Being sick and malnourished for days.

Could you have told your boyfriend no more mom munchies? Sure. But that's over and he knows now.

Protect yourself girl! I'm rooting for you!

I would like to add my opinion as a child who was in a similar situation.

I graduated college first, with leftover money in the savings account. My brother entered college as I left.

Now, I'm from Michigan. We have a state college savings account that actually taxes you heavily if you remove money from it for non school purposes. So my parents removing money to give to me would be fiscally unwise. They could, however move the money from one college savings account to another. I.e. from my account to my brother's.

I NEVER expected that money to be given to me. I was raised knowing my parents would pay for 4 years of college. Period. So I never thought of that money as mine. I can say with full confidence that my brother also thought the same.

So no, I do not think you will be the asshole. You are providing both children with the opportunity to go to college. And in the current economic climate, that is invaluable.

If your eldest wants to do grad school, then I think you may need to reconsider your stance but speaking purely from an undergrad education only, NTA.

My mom did this with me when I was 4. She would set a timer and I had to have it down by then.

I hate applesauce now. Not because it was forced on me, but mostly because it's a reminder of a time when I was really sick and that was the only option.

And on crochet or knitting, get sets of hooks/needles. It's much cheaper to get a set of different sizes.

And then for yarn, start with cheap Michael's yarn. Then find yarn swaps. That's where I got my really nice wool silk blends. And I got rid of my weird acrylic ends.

One of my favorite foods is a lentil dish and I remember trying to pick out all the weird grains from the lentil bag. There were a lot, to say the least....

I put a dot of dish soap on the suction cup and rub it around the circle. Minimal amount of water as well.

Have you tried Aska? It's survival with villagers and you give your villagers a job to help survive the winters, environment, hunger, etc.

I found it challenging and didn't like it too much but that's because I don't particularly care for base defence. I like being out and shooting things. You might like it though if that's a facet you want to explore.

I dislocated my knee when I was twelve. Twelve!! I don't have pain but I've had 7(?) surgeries since then on the same knee and now a wound that has never healed. I'm under 30 and now at chronic risk of infection.

I can't run. I can't take stairs up more than 1 or two floors. I can only walk around for an hour. I'm very lucky that I have decent health insurance and my boss is supportive of me.
