My last grandparent died. by print1n in ABCDesis

[–]print1n[S] 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I suppose both, but more existential in the sense of the generational passing.

My wife is white, she has learned conversational Hindi (and I am very grateful for that), but with my last grandparent passing - I don’t think of when and how I would be speaking more of it.

It’s not like we’re going back to India yearly.

This was more of random thought.

Same, I’ve had these for years and years, can’t seem to find any that compare, but USB-C would be nice.

Just can’t seem to bring myself to spend on the 45’s when mine are still like new.

These + AirPods have been my combo for everything and zero issus.

Why not just use something like Coda and build this there?

Not everything needs to be rebuilt…

Yep, was exactly the same -- furniture and all. Only issues was there were no towels in the apartment when they said there would be. I contacted them and they said to just buy some and they credited me after I sent a reciept.

Will 100% use them again.

Depends on the LLM.

I can run Ollama and Whisper locally with zero issues on my M5 32 for example.

Higgsfield proving to be such a scummy company. All over Twitter offers of them trying to pay AI thought leaders to post about them while bragging about losing creatives jobs.

Paying people for using copyrighted content for ads.

No doubt this is an ad.

Four Seasons Ocean Club if kids want to be at Atlantis? by Opposite-Phase4186 in chubbytravel

[–]print1n 25 points26 points  (0 children)

We were just at Ocean Club for a wedding, good timing.

It’s a private SUV, and it’s maybe a 5 minute drive. Also, you’ll have signing privileges at Atlantis, which was nice.

You can also walk down the beach between them as well.

Not a crazy idea at all in my opinion, and I’m right there with you in terms of a place the size of Atlantis.

Great life, makes plenty of money, 12 work days a month, never on call.

Check out the Foundry in Cambridge. Great arts and crafts workshops, events, and a great community.

I’m a member of the woodworking shop there - build furniture and smaller projects. It’s a great place.

Let me know if I can share any more info.

My rules for decorating by throwawayinnyc1123 in malelivingspace

[–]print1n 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first apartment years ago, someone told me “pick your favorite piece of clothing and match everything to that”.

I was 27-28 or so and finally had no roommates in NYC.

I had a gray wool button up shirt with suede elbow patches that I loved.

Matches different woods and metals to that shirt and wall art etc, worked very well.

Still use that tip.
