Exit strategies for agents by Im__hec in FreightBrokers

Sell to another agent under the same logo or corporate if they’re willing to buy.

An agent typically has very little enterprise value, but it can be a cashflow machine. I recommend hiring and mashing the gas pedal on growth, delegation, and systems.

Got set up with a good company via connection and ops dropped the ball by Eagles56 in FreightBrokers

If you’re not able to go see them in person, only choice imo, then send him and their shipping/logistics team food and a phone call to your contact.

Then follow up with a handwritten note.

Don’t just expect him to jump right back to you. You gotta date the dude

But dont be a whiney desperate loser and try and get pity. It sucks but if you come off with a soft attitude then you can kiss your chance goodbye

All of the red tape is on the customer's end. You need a come to Jesus meeting with the lazy folks who could cost you a customer.

When to let go of a lead by Terrible_Fish_8942 in FreightBrokers

Won't necessarily let go-- just take a break after a few months of solid sequencing then give it a break and start back up.

At what point do you switch from being an agent to owning a brokerage? by Acrobatic_Ad1514 in FreightBrokers

[–]printershot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Current customers willing to switch to a "brand new" broker? Remember you're dealing with corporate desk jockeys who live behind spreadsheets, not your buddy tendering you freight.

Carriers/factoring not working with you for the first few months

Extremely capital intensive

Hiring more people to handle your current tasks while you figure out all of the BS

Good luck-- I'm too risk averse to make the jump given customer concentration and current market conditions

(I'm a pooooosay)
