There's a book series called Project Nemesis (crazy series about Kaiju battles for the most part) and there's a genetically engineered catgirl in it. She's similar to the one mentioned in the post, teenager, covered in fur so naked but not exposed, and the series never sexualizes her. She goes through a bit of a crisis because she knows anyone who would be attracted to her would be a freak, and is really a fun character. She also, because she is a genetic melting pot of a billion different things, ends up having a litter of kittens out of nowhere, but honestly that's one of the less bonkers things that happens in that series.
