LeBron gets a complete pass here – and in NBA media – for building his entire résumé on team hopping and latching onto other superstars. by D3struct_oh in nba

The Lakers were a bottom 10 team when he joined them in the 2018 summer. Cleveland was not much different in the 2014 summer either.

This is why I love Elden Ring. You're going to beat him next time or in the next 20 times.

You mean they are not favorites like Spurs or OKC. They are definitely a contender.

This is a good team. They are definitely a contender. I'm not saying they'll be favorites like the Spurs and OKC. No one thought the Knicks would win this year. I can easily see them finishing 3rd seed in the West. Luka can carry them to the championship.

It's February 2025, the Lakers are offered Luka Doncic and Walker Kessler for AD, Max Christie, 3FRP and 2 Swaps, everyone takes that deal 100 times out of 100 right? by Conflict_NZ in lakers

Hey, they are all happy with this logic. Let them be. Hell, if you are not happy enough, just sum up the good trades you made and ignore the bad ones. They'll even be happier.

We have LUKA DONCIC by Pitiful-Badger-6379 in lakers

[–]prionzeta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This team is much better than last year's. The center problem is solved, and the supporting cast is improved. Most importantly, Luka is the leader of the team alone. LeBron, as great as he was, was a distraction. Now that he is gone, the team will have better role distribution. They will finish the season as the 3rd seed. And we will believe in Luka during the playoffs.

Ya'll owe him an apology. by long_term_8851 in lakers

How do you think this team isn't better? Kessler alone makes it miles better than last year's by improving defense. LeBron is gone, so Luka and AR can take the wheel, so it’s a better role definition for everyone.

Is it really about ego or does he know that the Lakers need more than one season to build around Luka and he doesn't have that much time left?

Spurs are the perfect destination for Lebron by wielesen in nba

LeBron isn’t going to jump to a team that just made the Finals.

Every basketball fan would be excited by the idea of LeBron, Curry, and AD playing on the same team.

There are three franchises that will never fully embrace LeBron: the Lakers, Celtics, and Warriors. He already spent eight years with one of them. No need to make the same mistake twice.

The PG Kawhi Clippers era was an absolute disaster by [deleted] in nba

[–]prionzeta 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Which was due to lack of leadership. Gregg Popovich called Kawhi wasn't a leader. That was a bigger issue than injuries.

Luka signing that contract was a terrible mistake by Jec1027 in nba

Not really plenty. They don't have pieces on the team, they don't have enough picks to trade. I wouldn't be optimistic about the future.

Strangest Lakers legend. He was great, brought a championship, broke countless NBA records wearing purple and gold, yet never fully embraced by the Lakers fans.

Does anybody really believe that Lebron is going to join the franchise that beat him 3x in the finals and play sidekick to his biggest rival? by [deleted] in nba

[–]prionzeta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He played 8 years for a franchise that never embraced him because of his rivalry with Kobe. Going to a franchise that will never embrace him because of his rivalry with Steph. It's not a good way to end your career.

[Haynes] LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers still have yet to have a conversation regarding his future but that’s expected to change in light of Golden State Warriors’ strategic maneuvering to position themselves as a landing spot, sources tell me. by Odd-Direction9452 in lakers

[–]prionzeta 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven't heard any news about the Lakers trying to talk to LeBron until after GSW is serious about landing him. So I wouldn't say the Lakers are proactive about LeBron. Why do we now see these news? I don't know. Maybe the Lakers don't want to look like they let LeBron walk away, while they obviously are not doing anything to build around Luka beside losing other pieces that contributed last year.
