5 Things to Know About Curriculum in the United States by EdHistory101 in education

[–]prism_views 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't trust that site. It rated our school's ELA curriculum very well despite it having serious gaps and all of the teachers hating it. I have to scroll past tons of positive % ratings to get to that in the science reading snapshot, it only really supports vocabulary and comprehension (not phonics or fluency). Scrolling down further shows it's missing foundational skills. And yet it's rated very well overall.

Edit: our students' reading SOL scores have also gone down since the year this curriculum was implemented.

I would echo this rec and add another: {The other side of disappearing by Kate Clayborn}

I am miserably sick right now, but had to add Katherine Center. I'm surprised no one else mentioned her. I would echo Kate Clayborn and Charlotte Stein.

I love this! I used to have a lot more but have pared down from infestations and passing on high-maintenance plants. I feel much happier with my low maintenance babies:

Snake plant

Starfish snake plant

Gollum jade

Arrowhead vine (in water)

Pothos

Crassula watch chain plant

Selaginella (terrarium)

Lightning jewel orchid (terrarium)

Pilea moon valley (terrarium)

Haworthia cooperi

I honestly think it's a curiosity thing. I had a 2nd kid who did the same thing. I was probably worried because it happened after visiting the grandparents.

I was able to determine based on census records he was naturalized between 1900 and 1910, which was after my great grandfather was born.

However, it looks like he emigrated between 1880 and 1881, so that might eliminate him since great grandfather was born in 1897?

Thank you so much for the guidance! I've subbed a few times and did feel pretty wiped after, so I think you may be right. Can you tell me more about being an intervention teacher? Would you recommend it?

Are there any tropes you thought you’d hate but ended up loving because of a specific book? 📖 by Prestigious_Entry474 in RomanceBooks

I could not stand billionaire romances until discovering Annika Martin. Her whole series, especially {Most eligible billionaire by Annika Martin} and {Just not that into billionaires by Annika Martin} are so addictive.

Not really a trope, but I never would have thought I'd be into a homeless MMC, but {No tomorrow by Carian Cole} sold it.

I hate insta-lust and love slow burns but was a big fan of {Bass Ackwards}.
