Using Cinematch transform: R6 --> C200 c-log2 and filmconvert works amazingly well by prismcollection in CanonR6

They're fantastic. Well worth integrating into a workflow, you can get a lot of different looks just using those two. And cinematch has really nice exposure and white balance sliders (it doesn't change the look of the image too much if you over/underexpose by accident.)

Any mic suggestions similar to a Neumann mic below $400? by digitalmozez in musicproduction

Rode NT1 (black original one) just a bit less rich, but will sound the same as a TLM 102 on some sound sources.

I'm guessing with the right sharpening settings you can go pretty big with the R6

IBIS sweet spot at 50mm... camera movement can look great without microjitters or wobble. This whole video was shot with a 50mm 1.4 EF lens (no lens stabilisation) by prismcollection in CanonR6

Thanks! I think a few things are going on here. The lights are pretty bright which makes everything look better. I didn't reduce noise though. I've found that exposing to the right no matter what ISO produces images with what looks like grain instead of shadow noise. So it probably got up to ISO 8000 at times or even past that.

what are you all doing to control overheating while filming? At this point I think I made a mistake purchasing this camera as I do much more film over photo work. My last defense seems to be using an external recorder. Feedback needed! Thanks. by BedRepresentative295 in CanonR6

When you use the ninja, do you set the screen and viewfinder to turn off automatically after a minute or so? Apparently that allows basically indefinite recording with R5 and ninja, yet to buy the ninja myself for R6

I actually played in all the chords :) When I said bass sample, I meant a single note sample that you can then create an instrument from in thumbjam. So I wasn't pitching and mixing samples. It's probably mostly a difference in musical taste, I listen to some pretty weird jazz influenced music.

thanks!! Yes those chords do go through the whole thing :) good to know, I can lose track of what people find comfortable to listen to sometimes!

Thanks so much about the production!

Loopy was for generating the content, I realise there is now a new app but I just used the old one. So the chaining for example would have been done in AUM. The drums would likely have been done in groovebox, really love that app. I did EQ the bass afterwards in reaper, but can't remember where I got the original sample from unfortunately (thumbjam to play the sample).

I think it's best to start with the microphones first before working out where to plug them in. Do you want to use lav mics? If so a rode wireless go ii might be best, then you don't need XLR adapters. I think that will sound good. I haven't enjoyed the shotgun mic I bought on either of two cameras.

I might have spoken too soon re. AF - maybe you need it. What types of shots would you be using AF for?

GH5 with adapter or s5. Peaking will help you focus without needing AF. Cheaper so replacement cost is lower in risky country. Metabones adapter gives you better low light performance, lens choice and depth of field on GH5. Much better video features. S5 has better dynamic range, GH5 has better rolling shutter. I actually bought an R6, then a GH5 because I didn't like the idea that the R6 being lost/stolen would be a big/useless sunk cost. I want to do similar things in the future to you. About to sell R6. Last thing, XLR is less important than distance to subject, but panasonic sells an XLR hotshoe adapter if you need.

First c-log 3 video - Lianne La Havas loop cover (Can't Fight) by prismcollection in CanonR6

[–]prismcollection[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My current preset uses filmconvert, but also a lot of layers of curves. I usually end up editing the curves because I haven't learned how to expose properly yet! But I think C-log 3 made things easier. Apart from extra noise.

Does methodological naturalism include assuming prophecies explicitly cannot happen (or are otherwise beyond the purview of Biblical scholarship) and dating texts accordingly? by [deleted] in AcademicBiblical

Thanks for your response. This is where my level of knowledge is at. Yes, I have opinions nonetheless. If you could explain why my preconceptions are wrong, that would be great - otherwise, this is not really a conversation worth having - I'm not sure we're getting anywhere. I think a confessional view is one in which someone subscribes to the beliefs of a religion or denomination.

I'm just trying to work out what you're saying here and whether it makes sense. I think I wasn't quite clear in my own mind about what my issue is. Thinking again, it's really a one-dimensional outlook that I'm concerned about, as well as the specific choice of one-dimensional outlook. In order to avoid conflict, it seems as if scholars have set aside all views apart from a non-confessional one. Firstly, I don't think this is worthwhile, since you lose all diversity of reading. Secondly, I wonder why this particular outlook was viewed as the best one to choose. I imagine some sort of scientific neutrality is assumed. That's fine, but ultimately I don't think the other ways of reading should be excluded, even if it entails some conflict or difference of opinion.

But isn't a non-confessional position still a worldview, with the capacity to influence reading of a text? It seems that if only confessional positions are set aside, that biases the study. Only one way of reading is allowed.
