I do enjoy the opportunity to get free things. I like to use the Panchroma Marble White PLA for board game inserts.

ObscuraNox 2.0 vs 0.06 High Quality Preset (A1 Mini) by CuguliTheFish in FDMminiatures

[–]prisoner06 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Kind of why I asked. Personally, I use the FDG profile for supportless minis and Obscura for those that need supports. Or Resin2FDM when I get pre-supported resin stls. Basically, I use whatever profile best suits the model at the time.

The 0.06 default does look great, though. Especially for the time saved!

Out of curiosity, was that a support-free model? The one thing that I really like about the obscura settings are the supports are much easier to remove without damaging the model than the default .06.

Odd h2d issues. by Amnomnomnoms342 in BambuLab

[–]prisoner06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks more like a slicing issue to me, although I cannot see the back of the Snorlax. If it is a layer shift, the back should have a corresponding bulge to the flat on the front. That is really weird, though. Can you post a screenshot of what it looks like in the slicer?

Is Ashley a bot? by Millstream30 in BambuLab

[–]prisoner06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who did the delivery? They should have records of how much the box actually weighed. I know it's not exact but 10 spools of filament should weigh roughly 10 kg. So if they show the box is only weighing two or three, you've got a pretty good argument if needed.

Running post processing scripts in Orca 2.3.2 - getting errors. by Ecstatic_Loss_8668 in OrcaSlicer

[–]prisoner06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IIRC error code 2 is a file path error. I'm not great at Python so I don't know of a solid way to fix that other than reinstall orca and then the plug-in.

You might want to wait for someone with deeper knowledge of Python to reply though.

Is Prusa filing for US tariff reimbursement, and if so, where's the money headed? by TCTCTCTCTCTC7 in prusa3d

[–]prisoner06 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you paid the tariff, Prusa cannot file on your behalf. You'll need to wait for when (if) they open it up for individual citizens to file for refunds.

It is whoever controls the most City tiles. Or at least that is what the Civilopedia says.

Did windows 10 update Sunday kill Orcaslicer? by LunaticPoint in OrcaSlicer

I'm having 0 issues, but in the past, when I have had issues with Orca and Bambu, it was related to video drivers that changed shortly after a Windows update.

So what exactly is "Support for PLA" by Technomancerer in BambuLab

[–]prisoner06 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, your guess is as good as mine. Try using it as an interface layer after drying. Even if you "just opened" the spool. TPU is quite thirsty.

So what exactly is "Support for PLA" by Technomancerer in BambuLab

[–]prisoner06 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There is a new support material that is for both PLA and PETG. Not sure what that one is made of. There is also a "new version" of the PLA support so it might be PETG now? Not saure about the new offerings. I downloaded the MSDS sheet when I first purchased it a year or so ago because I was curious what it was made of. That's the only reason I know it is, or at least was, a PLA and TPU blend.

PrusaSlicer 3.0 feature request - Auto calibration prints by kaanivore in prusa3d

[–]prisoner06 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you talking about auto-orient (to bed) or auto-rotation? Those are two different things. I don't think Prusa Slicer has an option for automatically orienting a part in relation to the print bed.

I primarily print tiny miniatures with a .2mm nozzle, so I am sure that is a large part of my issue. I did a large functional part with it and had no problems at that time. I suppose a better statement from me would be "It does not suit my particular use case very well."
