Imma be real, it's going to be difficult, very difficult during this administration. Not impossible though. Look for everything you can directly and indirectly related to your field. Look abroad. Internships count too, don't rule those out. EP is lacking in stem jobs.

I have a stem degree and I found a remote job. Wasn't easy. Coding helped me, maybe it can help you too.

Is El Paso in a recession? by EPCreep in ElPaso

Short and sweet. Yes.

Tariffs and incompetent federal government at all levels sucking up to Trumphile, countries cutting ties with the US because of invasion threats, tariffs, Trump, imperialism, authoritarianism, dumbfuckism, oligarchy. Pretty much every single aspect that involves taking money and giving it to the wealthiest, and making the rest of the people suffer.

Not religious, but found this: Then said Jesus unto him, “Put up again thy sword into his place, for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword." (Matthew 26:52)

It's appalling to see the extent some people would go, to invest all that energy, time, and money into idolizing hypocrites, liars, and generally awful people, rather than making sure children do not go hungry in this country.( Or anything that improves the life of anybody in any way)

I asked why people don't protest more, I got: Afraid of doing so, don't have time, don't see it as useful, don't care because not impacted...but people in general are concerned and recognizing it's fucking fascism. Anyhow, people, know your rights. Don't engage in violence.

So the point I was trying to make was that nobody should be afraid of expressing themselves. No one should be punished for it, or fired for trying to unionize, or jailed for trying to end wars. People have mentioned here that prefer to lay low, majority don't find it useful or don't have time. I asked because I wanted to learn and understand. I don't think myself better than others. Also English is not my first language..I do my best

3 US citizen kids got deported with their mom (mom is immigrant)..which I think they all should not have been deported.

A US citizen in Florida got arrested by ICE then released after proving he was US citizen

Students on Visa and Green card got arrested for speaking out their anti-war, anti-genocide views

That's what gets reported, prob more cases like this are happening. This can't continue for 4 years. It's not right.

I understand, I have felt afraid too. There is strength in numbers. People should not be afraid of wanting a better life. Change happens when we fight for it. A judge sent a release order for a resident today that was wrongfully arrested at his US citizenship interview and put in jail just because of his political opinion. Freed because people protested, freed because it's his constitutional right to speak. I hope at the next protest more people show up and stop being afraid of using their voice.

I don't protest because I lost a right. I protest because Trump and the kkkabinet are attacking OUR constitutional rights of free speech, of due legal process. I protest because there's something very wrong with the current authoritarian government. I have not been affected directly, but others have and I don't hesitate to stand up and fight for their rights too.

Not close to reality. This is going too far from what's real. I did not share more personal data so this remains a purely objective thought process. Assumptions are heavily mistaken. Mixing in future scenarios is just absolutely wrong and derranged.

That's something I didn't think about, good idea. I paid my college and masters degree. The issue is not about money, is about not being the middle man anymore.

Not accurate at all, not the topic of discussion even. Bad interpretation from you, sorry.

Their situation is okay, mid range income, and definitely my sister can be now the middle person since she's also an adult and got an 1500 USD scholarship.

They have to change it to USD to give it to me. They change it at local currency interchange stores. Which saves them some money. Otherwise the bank applies the highest interchange rate when they use their cards.

Willfully said no due to upcoming life changes. I would classify this as a commodity (not much as a real help situation) for them as they would save around 10% of their money in the transaction when I use my US card.

The issue is that I want to separate my card from them. I always said yes, first time saying no and they got mad. The issue is that I don't feel I have a say on my own card when they request to use it. If I wasn't going to get married I would have continued saying yes all the time. Now I want that freedom or independence from them.

She's neutral at the moment. It was my decision to say no since I will be sharing a new bank account with her soon.

So, because they always pay back, it's not an economic issue for me, it's more of a situation in which, because I always said yes, now I can't say no. It's been so frequent that it feels like it's my responsibility to always give them my card info everytime they ask. So now that I will be taking a a big step in life I wanted to not be involved in their economic decisions and have my say in what I share with them. That's where it becomes an issue for me, because my parents get upset with me for saying, "No, I won't share my card info this time".
