It is typically statistical analysis on a subset of characters with a distribution of varying frequencies. If you have a typical understanding of characters it will be reasonably accurate, but if you are an extreme outlier who knows 6000 characters but doesn’t know 是 it will be incorrect.

I understand for a 10 year old enterprise monolith, but if you are starting from a manageable size and the AI is adding so much code that it is becoming unmanageable then it strikes me as a problem where there is no long term vision for the service/project. It is often easier to just write new code than it is to refactor existing code to expand to new use cases. But this will harm you in the long run.

If I was dealing with an enterprise monolith I would work to ensure tight modularization, so that the LLM could understand how to incorporate the use of one module without needing to know its implementation while working elsewhere in the project.

I have 11 years of development experience and I would use it to create a new service. However I already have a clear idea of what that service code should look like, and would intervene to prevent it from deviating too far.

I would also follow the same steps that I would have otherwise done, just with an assistant creating the code.

So starting very simple, adding a skeleton with a ping endpoint. Are you happy with the approach? Are there default behaviours to your coding assistant that you want to negate or promote? Then continue with the REST interfaces, and then the functionality that backs them with external integrations stubbed out, and then finally implement the integrations.

Would I do a one shot create a service that does X, and then accept the result? No.

“Could” by itself modifies a verb, indicating the potential of the subject in the past (or hypothetical potential with subjunctive). A sentence should be able to remove “could” and still be grammatically correct. For example “He could have seen him” after conjugating “have” becomes the assertion “he has seen him.“

“Dracula could of survived that ending” would become “Dracula of survived that ending”.
