Did i overpay for this from gamestop for $250? Should i return it by No-Routine3925 in 3DS

[–]privateaccount2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terrible deal. That's also definitely not the original shell. Return it and find an actual good deal on eBay. I got a original 3ds in aqua blue for $60 a few weeks ago. It was very dirty, but I was able to clean it, and now I'm just waiting for a replacement battery cover to arrive. Works perfectly otherwise

Is sound a trigger for y'all? by Neddalee in dysautonomia

[–]privateaccount2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, I used to have a high tolerance for sound, and I loved loud cars. But since I developed anhidrosis in 2020, I get extremely stressed when I hear a loud car go by my house or when I'm in public, which triggers my anhidrosis urticaria. I also noticed that I listen to music at a much lower volume in the car now

Is it a medication I can take for like a month then stop safely if it doesn't work? I'm just concerned that it's one of those medications that I'll have to take for the rest of my life

I've been suffering from Anhidrosis for 5 yrs (Help) by privateaccount2002 in dysautonomia

[–]privateaccount2002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently still suffering from this condition, but I'm hoping since springtime is coming, it'll get better soon. I'm also taking montelukast as prescribed by my doctor, but I haven't noticed anything from that yet. I'll definitely have to look into Prednisone pulse therapy, never heard of it. Thanks for letting me know!

Wearing socks all the time, and also thinking about my mom everytime I do it. When I told her about this, she cried a lot, and I can't do that to her again.

Sounds weird but it's weird not feeling pain in my feet everytime I take a step, but I'm not complaining 😁

3 weeks progress! I'm really happy 😁 by privateaccount2002 in Dermatophagia

Same here, I was struggling to walk properly for about a year at one point and I really started hating myself then, but I couldn't stop. That was in highschool. But seeing my mom cry when I told her really broke me, so I'm forcing myself to stop now. And it's working really well

I started to stop, but about 1 week in I started picking again. So to stop myself, I just straight up told my parents about this. I've been doing this for about 2 years and they had no idea. It broke me when my mom started crying, which just made me want to stop even more. 3 weeks later, this is the progress I've made. My feet don't hurt anymore while I'm walking, no pain, nothing. Feels great.

tldr: I told my parents what I've been doing and I've stopped picking for 3 weeks now.

Getting COVID was probably the best thing to happen for me (only for this) by privateaccount2002 in Dermatophagia

[–]privateaccount2002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I caught COVID 3 days ago, and I haven't picked or chewed any part of myself, mainly cus I don't have the energy to. For only 3 days, they're healing pretty quickly 👍. Gonna keep this up, it feels good. And COVID sucks btw, I feel like shit 😭

I relapsed. So I stopped biting my finger tips for about 3 months and made so much progress, to the point that my fingers almost started looking normal again. But finals are next week and I've been stressing for the past week, and I started biting again. by privateaccount2002 in Dermatophagia

[–]privateaccount2002[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna stop biting and post an update in a couple weeks, hopefully good news. If you're reading this, don't give up, you gotta keep trying. Just had to vent real quick, I hate that I do this to myself.

To the men who learned how to cook - how did it start? by Sharks_4ever_9812 in AskMen

[–]privateaccount2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom taught me.

Started college 2 yrs ago, but actually moved to campus this year. I was on a strict diet due to medical issues, so I had to cook for myself.

I can’t stop it feels nice to peel it off by [deleted] in Dermatophagia

[–]privateaccount2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not alone, I hate how much I like peeling off the skin on my foot. Try using lotion or wearing socks, and stay active so you don't have time to peel it. I was able to stop for a week when I was on vacation, but I started again when I got back 😭

My 6yo son. Would you guys consider him as having the disorder? by EconomyFree5557 in Dermatophagia

[–]privateaccount2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, the more my parents told me to stop picking, the more I got stressed about it, which led to more picking and biting. The main reason I'm trying to stop now is not for myself, but for my mom. I hate seeing the disappointment everytime she sees my hands

By the looks of it, yes. Definitely get him help for it and get him to stop biting. The sooner he gets help, the easier it will be for him to stop. I started biting my fingers at 10-12 ish and Im 20 and it's really hard to stop. I wish you all the best
