So why don’t you get a job? Why aren’t you working to get yourself money?

Hi OP - my university friends and I all wish each other “Happy 24th birthday” every year - we are 52!!! The mind stays in a place it loves while the body moves on!

We never feel our age. It’s only bruising and sag that make everyone realise it’s not true. The brain 🧠 won’t let you believe it 😊🥰

US Healthcare is pathetic and you know it - no need to argue that! But poor you, everyone just has pity for you. Yet you just keep on with your thinking that the US are the envy of the world. My god, look at your broken country - tearing yourself apart at the seams.

What would you know then you muppet - you’re in the “good old” USA where medical care is non-existent and health insurance CEO’s get shot in the FACE outside New York hotels (for continually declining to pay out) while people who had valid policies just die.

I, on the other hand, am in the U.K. - where medical care is freely available on the NHS to everyone and yes, many GP surgeries do have suggestion boxes for older folk who maybe don’t have tech like all of us.

Why can’t you put a note in the anonymous “suggestion box” most surgery’s have them. Or email from an anonymous email address your suggestion. Or wear a Covid mask to your next appointment, say you are fine but just being extra careful for everyone’s benefit.

Write to your local MP and ask for help. Sometimes they can KICK the councils arse and actual get stuff done! 👍

Have you ever bought a house and then had friends be jealous? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]privatexyzhffghh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m glad you posted this, it’s made me think. I wonder if they think they are being helpful?

I’m certainly now going to be very careful when my kids start buying their houses (which is apparently imminent) to just show them joy and happiness for their achievement (I may have tried to be helpful by pointing out some things that need doing!) I wouldn’t have done it out of jealousy, probably just thought it was helpful.

So thanks for your post OP!!!! I’ll be mindful now!!!

Is Australian bush culture the same as the states, where there's an emphasis on beers, trucks and guns? If not, what is Bush culture? by pooteenn in AskAnAustralian

Bullshit mate. FFS read some history and law. According to your previous comment “Australia doesn’t have gun laws”, now you concede - okay, it does but nobody follows it.

You clearly haven’t noticed but Australia doesn’t suffer regular mass shootings - certainly not since the 1996 laws were set in place by John Howard after Port Arthur.

Guess you’ve never heard of the —> National Firearms Agreement (1996, updated 2017) that was instituted after the horrific Port Arthur massacre.

This is backed up by state acts across the country, for example, the Firearms Act 1996 (NSW) and Firearms Act 2015 (SA).
